A (2R,3R)‐butanediol dehydrogenase from Bacillus subtilis (BsBDH) is engineered for the enantioselective synthesis of 2‐hydroxycyclohexanone. A PASS computational design strategy is proposed to enhance the thermostability of BsBDH. Moreover, ESM‐1v combined with ISM is utilized for enhancing and inverting its stereoselectivity.

Thermoanaerobacter sp. CGTase: Its Properties and Application.
A novel CGTase (Cyclomaltodextrin glucanotransferase) has been isolated from a strain of Thermoanaerobacter, a thermophilic anaerobe. The enzyme is extremely heat stable and has a temperature optimum of 90-95°C at pH 6.0. It is active over a broad pH range, and exhibits more than 80% activity from pH 5.0-6.7.

Careful CO Addition Enhances Autotrophic d‐Lactate Formation With Engineered Acetobacterium woodii
ABSTRACT The acetogen A. woodii efficiently converts CO2 and H2 to acetate. Metabolic engineering enabled the autotrophic production of non‐native products, for example, d‐lactate from CO2 by overexpression of d‐lactate dehydrogenase from Leuconostoc mesenteroides and knockout of the native lactate dehydrogenase. During gas fermentation with acetogens,

Thermoanaerobacter ethanolicus in a comparison of the growth efficiencies of thermophilic and mesophilic anaerobes [PDF]
Maintenance coefficients and theoretical maximum growth yields, with respect to both substrate and ATP, were estimated for Thermoanaerobacter ethanolicus growing in a glucose-limited, continuous culture. A comparison of these values with those for other bacteria showed that, contrary to predictions by others, anaerobic thermophiles had neither low ...
