A Molecular Thermochromic Ferroelectric
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2020AbstractMolecular ferroelectrics have attracted considerable interests because of their easy and environmentally friendly processing, low acoustical impedance and mechanical flexibility. Herein, a molecular thermochromic ferroelectric, N,N′‐dimethyl‐1,4‐diazoniabicyclo[2.2.2]octonium tetrachlorocuprate(II) ([DMe‐DABCO]CuCl4) is reported, which shows ...

Intrinsically thermochromic fluorans
Chem. Commun., 2012A Suzuki coupling strategy has been employed to access a series of novel fluorans substituted with a phenolic moiety. These fluorans display good thermochromism in methyl stearate and obviate the need for traditional complex formulations containing acidic colour developers.

Large-scale shear-ordered photonic crystals are shown to exhibit unusual thermochromic properties. By balancing the refractive index of the polymer core and composite shell components at room temperature, transparent films are created, which become colored on heating to 150 °C. Since this scattering-based structural color depends only on resonant Bragg
