Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...

ABSTRACT Aims With the rising prominence of GLP‐1 receptor agonists, identifying predictors of optimal bariatric surgery candidates has become increasingly important. We investigated cross‐sectional relationships between thyroid hormones and obesity‐related parameters, and evaluated the predictive value of baseline thyroid hormones for weight loss (WL)

Density Underpins Shifts From Competition to Facilitation in Co‐Invading Blowflies
We performed species interactions experiments on > 1900 individuals of co‐occurring invasive blowflies. We found that interaction outcomes varied by species, suggesting that competitive outcomes for co‐invaders are strongly shaped by both density and species balance.

Combination Pharmacotherapies for Obesity—Current Evidence and Future Directions
Combination pharmacotherapy for obesity can enhance weight loss by targeting complementary neuroendocrine and metabolic pathways. Such benefits are largely additive but limited by tolerability, cost and access. This review outlines practical clinical archetypes and a research agenda for safer, more precise and durable combination strategies across ...

Analysis of 2162 Scopus publications showed that research on leptin resistance and obesity‐related metabolic dysfunction expanded markedly from 1995 to 2025, peaking in 2014 before stabilising. The field broadened towards inflammatory, cardiometabolic and mechanistic topics, while international collaboration remained concentrated among high‐output ...
