Gallstone formation and hepatobiliary tumour risk: Clinical implications of the bile acid–gut microbiota axis

open access: yesClinical and Translational Discovery, Volume 6, Issue 5, October 2026.
1. Irregular dietary patterns (e.g., late breakfast, reduced meal frequency) upregulate the bai gene cluster by disrupting cholecystokinin (CCK) release rhythms and gut microbiota circadian rhythms, leading to increased production of secondary bile acids, particularly DCA. High‐carbohydrate dietary patterns increase gallstone risk (OR = 1.329).

Adipocyte‐Derived KIF13B Aggravates Obesity‐Associated Metabolic Dysfunction via LRP1/PPARγ Signaling

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
Adipocyte‐derived KIF13B promotes LRP1 localization and nuclear LRP1–PPARγ transcriptional activity, thereby enhancing adipogenic gene expression, lipid accumulation, and obesity‐associated metabolic dysfunction. Adipocyte‐specific Kif13b deletion disrupts this LRP1/PPARγ axis, suppresses adipogenic programming, reduces adipose expansion, and protects ...

The Bile Acid Signaling Axis: Deciphering the Roles of FXR and TGR5 in Hepatic Steatosis, Fibrosis, and Cancer

open access: yesPharmacology Research &Perspectives, Volume 14, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Bile acids (BAs) serve not only as emulsifiers for lipid digestion but also as essential signaling molecules, governing various physiological and pathological processes through their interaction with the farnesoid X receptor (FXR) and the takeda G protein‐coupled receptor 5 (TGR5).

Phthalate Metabolite, Mono(2‐Ethyl‐5‐Hydroxyhexyl) Phthalate (MEHHP), Promotes Uterine‐Fibroid–Associated Phenotypes in Myometrial Stem Cell‐Derived 3D Organoids

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, Volume 41, Issue 10, Page 975-997, October 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how phthalate exposure contributes to uterine fibroid (UF) development by studying the effects of the Mono‐(2‐ethyl‐5‐hydroxyhexyl) phthalate (MEHHP), a metabolite of Di(2‐ethylhexyl) phthalate, on myometrial stem cells (MMSCs).

Resting Metabolic Rate Rises in Pregnancy, but Energy Intake and Active Expenditure Remain Stable: A Pilot Study

open access: yesAustralian and New Zealand Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Volume 66, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Adequate nutrition during pregnancy is well established; however, how pregnancy affects energy metabolism, particularly the relationship between energy intake, expenditure and maternal mass, remains poorly understood. Current dietary recommendations advise increasing energy intake across pregnancy, but these are based on theoretical
