Transparent Dioxaborolane Acrylate Vitrimers Through One‐Pot Reaction With Superior Strength as Matrix Material for Carbon Fibers and TiO2 Nanoplates

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, EarlyView.
This study introduces a one‐pot, solvent‐free synthesis of multi‐reprocessable vitrimers by integrating acrylates with dynamic dioxaborolane chemistry and a tetrafunctional linker. The resulting highly crosslinked, transparent polymers exhibit a Tg of 58°C, low activation energy (33.4 kJ mol−1), and thermal stability up to 305°C. They demonstrate rapid

Warpage in Material Extrusion Additive Manufacturing of Amorphous and Semicrystalline Polymers

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
Material Extrusion Additive Manufacturing (MEAM) enables the fabrication of complex parts, but faces the challenge of warpage due to thermal stresses and phase transitions. This review examines the warpage mechanism, the role of processing conditions, material properties, and part geometry.

Analysis of Crystallization Kinetics of PLA Filament for Fused Filament Fabrication

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study characterized PLA 4032D filament crystallization kinetics for FFF. Extrusion significantly accelerated the crystallization rate due to thermomechanical stress and degradation. Two calorimetric protocols were used: “melt” (erasing history) and “solid” (preserving nuclei). The “solid” protocol showed significantly faster kinetics, highlighting

Cellulose Nanocrystal‐Reinforced Waterborne Polyurethane Composites with Excellent Dynamic Impact Resistance

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
The hydrogen‐bond‐enhanced CNC/WPU nanocomposites, fabricated via solution casting, exhibited a 59.6% increase in elastic modulus (5.57 ± 0.46 GPa), 29.9% higher energy absorption (165.2 ± 6.7 MJ·m−3), and a 36.21% improvement in maximum engineering stress (545.5 ± 17.5 MPa) at 0.5 wt.% CNC.

Influence of Viscosity Ratio on the Mechanical, Morphological, and Rheological Properties of Thermoplastic Dynamic Vulcanizates from Devulcanized Tire Rubber and Polypropylene

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study explores how polypropylene viscosity influences the structure and performance of thermoplastic dynamic vulcanizates made with devulcanized tire rubber. Higher matrix viscosity results in better dispersion of the rubber phase, forming smaller domains and enhancing mechanical properties. The findings support more efficient recycling strategies
