Thermoresponsive polymer-stabilized silver nanoparticles

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2008
Silver nanoparticles (Ag NPs) stabilized by a thermoresponsive polymer, poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM), have been synthesized by the reduction of silver ions with NaBH(4) in aqueous solutions. The obtained Ag NPs are very stable at room temperature due to the extended coil conformation of the PNIPAM chain at temperatures below its volume phase ...

DNA Hybridization in Thermoresponsive Polymer Nanoparticles

ChemPhysChem, 2010
AbstractWe achieve very high hybridization efficiencies by using a new method to immobilize DNA strands on the surface of thermoresponsive polymer nanoparticles. Hybridization efficiencies of about 70 % are obtained between the DNA immobilized in the particles and a complementary strand in solution, even at very low ionic strengths (1 mM).

Thermoresponsive Polymers Based on Tertiary Amine Moieties

Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2021
AbstractThermoresponsive polymers exhibiting unique reversible phase transition properties in aqueous solution in response to temperature stimuli have been extensively investigated. In the past two decades, thermoresponsive polymers based on tertiary amine moieties have achieved considerable progress and become an important family of thermoresponsive ...

Thermoresponsive Synthetic Polymer–Microtubule Hybrids

Langmuir, 2013
Thermoresponsive hybrids consisting of synthetic polymers and microtubules (MTs), i.e., assemblies of tubulins, were prepared by bonding MTs covalently to a few reactive units in a macromolecular strand. The hybrids exhibited the gel/sol transition because of the "assembling of tubulins to MTs/disintegrating of MTs to tubulins" by the temperature ...

Biodistribution of a radiolabelled thermoresponsive polymer in mice

Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2010
Drug delivery systems based on thermoresponsive polymers might serve as suitable carriers for local radiotherapy. We have, therefore, designed and synthesized a radioiodine-labellable thermoresponsive polymer. The polymer was synthesized by copolymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide with N-methacryloyl tyrosinamide in tetrahydrofuran, and then labelled ...

Synthesis and Characterization of a Thermoresponsive Polyoxometalate–Polymer Hybrid

Chemistry – A European Journal, 2012
AbstractWe report the synthesis of the first organo‐POM with thermoresponsive properties. Our concept will provide chemists with a new tool to design POMs whose solubility is reversibly controllable through an external stimulus. POM–polymer TBA7[POM]‐poly(N,N‐diethylacrylamide) (POM–PDEAAm), was prepared by grafting PDEAAm‐NH2 (obtained by RAFT ...

Thermoresponsive polymers in liquid chromatography

Anal. Methods, 2012
In liquid chromatography, ‘reversed’ phase (RP) HPLC accounts for the vast majority of analyses concerning the separation of biomolecules. However, the typical usage of organic mobile phases as eluents associated with this technique has drawbacks in certain applications due to the possible denaturation of biocompounds, including other concerns related ...
