Intra-abdominal thermosensitivity in the rabbit as compared with spinal thermosensitivity
Pflgers Archiv European Journal of Physiology, 1973In rabbits, intra-abdominal temperature sensors of the dorsal wall of the abdominal cavity were selectively stimulated by means of thermodes perfused with water of temperatures ranging from 12–50°C. Respiratory acceleration and vasodilatation of the skin could be elicited as thermoregulatory responses by intraabdominal warming.

Thiols, Thiol Depletion, and Thermosensitivity
Radiation Research, 1983Hyperthermia sensitization or tolerance is subject to cellular events that may occur at membrane, nuclear, and cytoplasmic sites. We have studied the effects of elevated temperatures on the oxidative-reductive state of the cell by measuring and altering glutathione (GSH) concentrations. GSH plays a pivotal role in maintaining the overall cellular redox

Thermosensitive PEGylated Polypeptides
Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2004AbstractSummary: We report a thermosensitive polypeptide consisting of hydrophilic poly(ethylene glycol)s and hydrophobic phenyl alanine ethyl esters. It is soluble in most solvents and undergoes a micelle (radius ≈ 10 nm) to nanoparticle (radius ≈ 100 nm) transition in water as the temperature increases.

Gallic acid (G) is a natural phenolic compound that has potent antioxidant and antityrosinase activities. The solubility of gallic acid in aqueous system is rather poor. The purpose of this research is to develop the thermosensitive gel containing G based on Lutrol® F127 (L) and the antioxidant of prepared gels was determined using modified ABTS ...

Thermosensitive and biocompatible cyclotriphosphazene micelles
Journal of Controlled Release, 2007A new class of thermosensitive micellar cyclotriphosphazenes has been synthesized by stepwise nucleophilic substitutions of hexachlorocyclotriphosphazene with a hydrophilic methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG) and a hydrophobic oligopeptide selected from tetra- to hexapeptides, and characterized by means of multinuclear ((1)H, (31)P) NMR spectroscopy ...

Thermosensitive polymer-modified liposomes
Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews, 2001Temperature-sensitive liposomes are considered to be a promising tool to achieve site-specific delivery of drugs. These liposomes have been prepared using lipids whose membranes undergo a gel-to-liquid crystalline phase transition a few degrees above physiological temperature. However, recently, temperature-sensitization of liposomes has been attempted

Thermosensitive magnetic fluids
Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2006Magnetic core–shell particles were synthesized by the attachment of a polymeric brush on the surface of magnetite nanoparticles. The hybrid particles are well dispersible in good solvents for the polymeric shell and form thermoreversible magnetic fluids in carrier fluids with a critical solution behaviour.

Thermosensitive Lanthanide Complexes of Hyaluronan
Biomacromolecules, 2002Addition of trivalent lanthanide salts to solutions of hyaluronan (HA), a naturally occurring anionic polysaccharide, resulted in an unexpected reverse-temperature phase transition (RTPT); i.e., the complexes were soluble when cooled but precipitated when warmed.

Thermosensitive hydrogels for drug delivery
Expert Opinion on Drug Delivery, 2011Controlled drug delivery has been widely applied in areas such as cancer therapy and tissue regeneration. Thermosensitive hydrogel-based drug delivery systems have increasingly attracted the attention of the drug delivery community, as the drugs can be readily encapsulated and released by the hydrogels.Thermosensitive hydrogels that can serve as drug ...
