Radiosynthesis of 5-[18F]Fluoro-1,2,3-triazoles through Aqueous Iodine–[18F]Fluorine Exchange Reaction

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
In this report, a simple and efficient process to achieve fluorine-18-labeled 1,2,3-triazole is reported. The heteroaromatic radiofluorination was successfully achieved through an iodine–fluorine-18 exchange in an aqueous medium requiring only trace ...

Protein Language Model‐Guided Engineering of a 2,3‐Butanediol Dehydrogenase for the Enantioselective Synthesis of Cyclic α‐Hydroxy Ketones

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A (2R,3R)‐butanediol dehydrogenase from Bacillus subtilis (BsBDH) is engineered for the enantioselective synthesis of 2‐hydroxycyclohexanone. A PASS computational design strategy is proposed to enhance the thermostability of BsBDH. Moreover, ESM‐1v combined with ISM is utilized for enhancing and inverting its stereoselectivity.

Engineering New‐to‐Nature Biological Pathways for β,γ‐Alkanediol Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β,γ‐Alkanediols are value‐added chemicals to be used as functional solvents, biofuels, and cosmetic components. This work demonstrates a carboligation‐mediated approach for synthesis of linear chain β,γ‐alkanediols in Escherichia coli, namely, hexane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐HDO) and pentane‐2,3‐diol (2,3‐PDO). The engineered E. coli cells produce 152.2 mm (17.98

Impact of Rapid Exome Sequencing on Pediatric Patients With Cardiomyopathy and Acute Heart Failure

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Few studies describe the impact of rapid exome sequencing (ES) on pediatric cardiomyopathy in urgent clinical settings. Here, we retrospectively report the impact of rapid singleton ES in pediatric patients presented with acute heart failure and isolated cardiomyopathy or myocarditis, between 2021 and 2023 at a single tertiary care center.

Dietary Mannan‐Rich Fractions Attenuate Weaning Stress in Piglets via Modulating Gut Microbiota and TLR5/NF‐κB Signaling

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study aimed to investigate the potential of a mannan‐rich fraction (MRF) as a dietary intervention to alleviate weaning stress in piglets. Our results revealed that MRF could alleviate weaning stress by modulating the gut microbiota and the TLR5/NF‐κB signaling pathway, offering a novel and sustainable alternative to antibiotic use in swine ...

The Health Consequences of Senior Hunger in the United States: Evidence from the 1999-2010 NHANES [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Millions of seniors are food insecure in the United States, meaning that scores do not have access to enough food at all times for an active, healthy life.
