Pharmacokinetics of thiamphenicol in pigs
Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2002Thiamphenicol (TAP) is a broad spectrum bacteriostatic antibiotic which is an analogue of chloramphenicol (CAP) (Plomb et al., 1976). It has similar antibacterial activity to CAP (Sutter & Finegold, 1976; Asawa et al., 1995). There are numerous investigations of the pharmacokinetics of TAP after intravenous (i.v.) and intramuscularly (i.m ...

Degradation of thiamphenicol by La-Fe2O3/DBD/HCP synergistic catalytic system.
Journal of Environmental ScienceIn this study, a highly efficient La-Fe2O3/dielectric barrier discharge (DBD)/honeycomb ceramic plate synergistic catalytic system was successfully constructed by using modified iron oxide (Fe2O3) catalyst coating assisted DBD plasma, and the prepared ...

Preparation of trimethylsilyl derivatives of thiamphenicol
Journal of Chromatography A, 1977The silylation of thiamphenicol has been investigated. Treatment of thiamphenicol with hexamethyldisilazane or N-trimethylsilylimidazole, either alone or in the presence of trimethylchlorosilane, in acetonitrile or pyridine yields the bis(trimethylsily) (TMS) ether derivative.

Thiamphenicol in the Treatment of Extragenital Gonorrhea
Sexually Transmitted Diseases, 1984One hundred ninety-two cases of gonorrhea, of which 23 were extragenital only or both genital and extragenital, were treated with a single oral dose of thiamphenicol (2.5 g in patients weighing less than or equal to 80 kg; 3 g in patients weighing greater than 80 kg). Of the 178 patients whose follow-up was possible, 176 patients (98.9%), including all

The influence of radiation sterilization on thiamphenicol
Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2008The effect of ionising radiation, applied in the form of an electron beam, in the doses of 25, 100 and 400 kGy on the physical and chemical properties of thiamphenicol in solid phase has been studied by organoleptic analysis (form, colour, smell, solubility, clarity) and spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, EPR), chromatography (TLC), SEM observations, X-ray

Pharmacokinetics of florfenicol and thiamphenicol in ducks
Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 2018AbstractThe pharmacokinetics of florfenicol (FF) and thiamphenicol (TP) after single intravenous (IV) and oral (PO) administration was investigated in Mulard ducks. Both antibiotics were administered at a dose of 30 mg/kg body weight, and their concentrations in plasma samples were assayed using high‐performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet ...

Pharmacodisposition of thiamphenicol in rabbits.
DTW. Deutsche tierarztliche Wochenschrift, 2001The pharmacokinetic parameters of thiamphenicol (TAP) were studied in New Zealand white rabbits. Five rabbits were each given thiamphenicol as a single 30 mg/kg of body weight dosage by intravenous (i.v.), intramuscular (i.m.) and oral routes. Serum antibacterial concentrations were determined for 72 h after dosing.

Effect of Thiamphenicol on Iron Absorption
Acta Haematologica, 2009The effect of thiamphenicol (a protein synthesis inhibitor) administration on iron absorption was studied in rabbits. Iron absorption was measured in a whole-body counter using 59Fe, and plasma iron turnover (PIT) was simultaneously determined with 55Fe. In comparison with the controls, the group receiving thiamphenicol showed no significant difference

Thiamphenicol in the Treatment of Chancroid in Men
Sexually Transmitted Diseases, 1984Fifty-five men were treated for culture-positive chancroid with two 2.5-g doses of thiamphenicol given on each of two consecutive days. Forty-nine patients (89.1%) were cured on this regimen. No adverse effects were noted. Cultured strains of Haemophilus ducreyi were found to be sensitive to thiamphenicol.
