Energy‐sparing by 2‐methyl‐2‐thiazoline protects heart from ischaemia/reperfusion injury
Aims Cardiac ischaemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury remains a critical issue in the therapeutic management of ischaemic heart failure. Although mild hypothermia has a protective effect on cardiac I/R injury, more rapid and safe methods that can obtain ...

A rhodium(II)‐catalyzed ring expansion of stereodefined dihydro‐1,3‐thiazines with diazomalonates gives 1,4‐thiazepines via a sulfonium ylide rearrangement. The reaction shows a cis/trans reactivity divergence arising from different metal coordination, as revealed by experiments and density functional theory studies.

Our study reveals that cave‐dwelling marine sponges host bacteria with antimicrobial activity against multidrug‐resistant strains. The bioactive Pseudomonadaceae strains exhibited biosynthetic clusters encoding both characterized and putative antimicrobial compounds and peptides. The findings highlight their potential for discovering novel biomolecules
