Understanding Rheumatoid Arthritis‐Oral Health Perceptions Around Diagnosis and the Early Disease Course: A Phenomenological Approach

open access: yesCommunity Dentistry and Oral Epidemiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To explore how Dutch adults with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) perceive their oral health around the diagnostic process and the early disease course. The primary objective was to describe these perceptions in depth, and a secondary objective was to identify areas for future patient‐centred research.

Children's Positioning in Relation to Parental Conflicts When Living in Two Homes

open access: yesChild &Family Social Work, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines how children living in two homes position themselves in relation to their divorced parents' low or moderate level everyday conflicts and what kinds of micropractices they adopt to manage these situations. The data consist of interviews and written accounts from 14 Finnish participants aged 8–33, all of whom have childhood ...

Research and application of pressure relief technology for fracturing thick hard roof in super-high mining face

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Aiming at the problems of super-large mining space, strong ore pressure and ultra-high coal wall stability control faced by full-mechanized mining face with ultra-large mining height and thick hard roof, this paper takes the 122104 working face of Caojiatan Coal Mine, the world’s first ultra-10 m super-mechanized mining face, as the research background.

Short‐Term Outcomes of Full Pulpotomy Compared With Root Canal Treatment for Irreversible Pulpitis: The PROVE Study

open access: yesInternational Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To assimilate data from individual randomised trials and perform a pooled analysis of short‐term outcomes of pulpotomy compared with root canal treatment (RCT) for teeth with symptomatic irreversible pulpitis (SIRP). Methods Randomised trials were conducted in eight countries using a standardised clinical protocol and outcome ...

The jaws in the jaws: Morphofunctional analysis of the pharyngeal plates of Labrus viridis Linnaeus, 1758 (Teleostei, Labridae)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Functional morphology highlights the adaptive flexibility of fish feeding strategies across environmental gradients and seasonal variations, providing key insights for the management and conservation of ichthyofaunal communities and their habitats.

Study on optimization of key parameters of thick hard roof cutting and retaining roadway in inclined coal seam

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
To address stress concentration in mining roadways, particularly in the inclined, thick, and hard roof, and lessen the impact of sudden overlying strata collapse, a comprehensive study was conducted on the 1301N transport roadway in No.6 Great Wall Mine. The research utilized various methods such as theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and field

Postcranial anatomy of the Miocene hippopotamoids of Toros‐Menalla, Chad

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
We establish a framework for the identification of postcranial remains in hippopotamoids by describing and comparing for the first time two late Miocene hippopotamoids from Toros‐Menalla, Chad (Hexaprotodon garyam, an early hippopotamid, and Libycosaurus bahri, the last African anthracothere) with the common hippopotamus.

Assessing the microstructure of simple rhamphothecae in chickens (Aves: Galliformes: Gallus gallus domesticus)

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Simple rhamphotheca are externally homogeneous but internally are composed of several corneous layers with varying hardness. Areas under more mechanical stress such as the rostral portion and the tomia are significantly harder than other areas. Abstract Corneous sheaths on the jaws of beaked tetrapods, or rhamphothecae, are classified as simple or ...

A bristle‐nosed Jurassic ray‐finned fish (Actinopterygii) bears true dermal odontodes on its snout

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
Teeth show extreme diversity, including tooth‐like dermal odontodes or “skin teeth” in many extant fishes. We describe the anatomy of enlarged tubercles on the snout of Redfieldius, an extinct early Jurassic fish. We found that the tubercles in Redfieldius are dermal odontodes that evolved independently from those of living species. Abstract Comparison
