Variation in Deformation Behaviors Along the Transverse Direction During the Warm Rolling of a 1480-mm-Wide AZ31B Plate

open access: yesChinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering, 2021
A decrease in the weight of aerospace vehicles, large ships, weapons, and high-speed trains will increase the demand for wide-width magnesium alloy plates and their composite parts to replace steel and plastic. An investigation was conducted to study the

Purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 for phase separation studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe detailed protocols for the purification and preparation of Marchantia polymorpha Auxin Response Factor 2 (MpARF2). This protein is fused to an MBP solubility tag and an mNG fluorescent tag and is purified from Escherichia coli. The presented procedures make it possible to study MpARF2 assemblies, which could arise from phase separation ...

Thermal runaway protection and structural lightweighting of aviation lithium batteries

open access: yes工程科学学报
High-temperature ejecta generated during the thermal runaway process of lithium batteries can compromise the structural integrity of the top plate of the battery pack, posing a severe thermal shock threat to surrounding equipment, wiring, and aircraft ...

Clinical Validation of Artificial Intelligence (AI)‐based Cartilage Segmentation Predicting Knee Replacement

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective For cartilage morphology to serve as a scalable endpoint in clinical trials, analyses should be performed automatically without human interaction. To clinically validate artificial intelligence (AI)‐based analysis, we studied cartilage loss from MRI prior to knee replacement.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

Nonlinear Dynamics of Thick Composite Laminated Plates Including the Effect of Transverse Shear and Rotary Inertia

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2008
In this work, a suggested analytical solution for nonlinear dynamic analysis of (fiber-reinforced) composite laminated thick plate is developed by using first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT).

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Generalized thermoelastic diffusion in a thick circular plate including heat source

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2016
The present paper is aimed at studying thermoelastic diffusion interactions in a thick circular plate of infinite extent and finite thickness subjected to an axisymmetric heat supply and a heat source in the context of Lord–Shulman theory of generalized ...

Thermomechanical Fatigue and Creep–Fatigue Interaction of Inconel 718 Additively Manufactured by Laser Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Thermomechanical fatigue tests of laser beam powder bed fusion (PBF‐LB) Inconel 718 show that the additively manufactured material reaches almost the lifetimes of conventionally‐rolled material under no‐dwell conditions. Introducing dwell times at the maximum temperature markedly reduces the lifetimes due to pronounced grain boundary sliding associated

The Linear Vibrational Behavior of Thick Plates Including the Effects of Shear and Rotary Inertia

open access: yesمجلة النهرين للعلوم الهندسية, 2010
In this work, a suggested analytical solution for static and dynamic analysis of (fiber-reinforced) composite laminated thick plate is developed by using the single layer theory and first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) theory.
