TREATMENT WITH THIDIAZURON FOR PREVENTING LEAF YELLOWING IN CUT TULIPS AND CHRYSANTHEMUM

Acta Horticulturae, 2003
Cytokinins are able to inhibit leaf yellowing in some cut flowers and potted plants. Thidiazuron is a substituted of phenyl-urea that induce cytokinin-like responses. The first applications of TDZ (TDZ, N-phenyl-N'-1,2,3-thiadiazol-5- ylurea) in cut alstroemeria and lilies have shown to delay leaf senescence.

Rapid plant regeneration of pea using thidiazuron

Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 1996
A simple and rapid pea regeneration procedure was developed. An average of up to 20 shoots formed from hypocotyl explants of cvs. Sugar Ann and Patriot cultured on Murashige and Skoog basal medium supplemented with 0.5 or 1.0 μM thidiazuron (N-phenyl-N′-1,2,3-thiadiazol-5′-ylurea). Hypocotyls of Puget and Sugar Daddy did not respond. Regenerated shoots

Thidiazuron as an Elicitor in the Production of Secondary Metabolite

2018
The secondary metabolites are known to play a major role in the adaptation of plants to their environment. They are also used by humans as food additives and as pharmaceuticals. Various strategies have been developed to improve the production of secondary metabolites in plant cell and tissue culture.

Thidiazuron Induced Regeneration in Cuminum cyminum L

Journal of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2001
In this communication we report shoot organogenesis from hypocotyl explants in cumin (Cuminum cyminum) genotype RZ-19 by the use of thidiazuron (TDZ). Various levels of TDZ were incorporated in MS basal medium to induce regeneration. Regeneration was achieved with a frequency up to 30% on 0.5 and 0.1 mg l−1 concentration of TDZ.

Delaying Early Blight Onset in Potato with Thidiazuron

American Journal of Potato Research, 2010
Alternaria solani is an opportunistic pathogen causing early blight in potato (Solanum tuberosum). Cytokinin growth regulators delay senescence. Can thidiazuron and kinetin, synthetic cytokinins, prolong the fungicidal activity of mancozeb and chlorothalonil-Zn against early blight? Trials were conducted from 2001 to 2005 on ‘Atlantic’ potato. Mancozeb

The effect of cytokinin and thidiazuron on tomato inoculated with endomycorrhiza

Mycorrhiza, 1993
Seeds of tomato (Lycopersicon lycopersicum var. Peto 86) were planted in soil inoculated with two vesicular-arbuscular mycorrhizal isolates (Glomus intraradices Schenck & Smith). After 7 weeks, plants were transplanted to the field and sprayed twice with cytokinin and thidiazuron, at 50% flowering and 3 weeks later.

Role of Thidiazuron in Tissue Culture of Orchids

2018
Orchids are among the elite of flowering plants, fetching a very high price in the international market. The orchid industry of today is dependent on micropropagation for planting material, since orchid seeds lack a functional endosperm and do not germinate naturally without a fungal association.

Thidiazuron: A Potent Phytohormone for In Vitro Regeneration

2018
Thidiazuron (C9H8N4OS) is one of the most effective substituted phenylureas that has been examined for cytokinin-like activity in plant tissue cultures. A wide range of physiological responses were ascertained in response to TDZ application in several plant species. Apart from its cytokinin-like activity, TDZ has been steered to modulate the endogenous
