Compaction effects on crop yields in Vertisols: Transient under wet years

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 8, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Soil compaction commonly impacts productivity in Australian cotton production systems. A field experiment conducted during the 2019–2020 season showed that compaction decreased lint yield by 27%. The objective of this study is to evaluate the legacy effect of soil compaction on subsequent crop yields (wheat [Triticum aestivum L.] in 2020 and ...

Efecto de la aplicación de diferentes productos químicos en el mejoramiento de las condiciones de cosecha en el cultivo de algodón (Gossypiumhirsutum L.)

open access: yesRIA: Revista Investigaciones Agropecuarias, 2004
Una cosecha mecánica eficiente necesita que las plantas de algodónpresenten una reducida cantidad de hojas y la mayor parte de los capu-llos abiertos, para poder recolectarlos en una sola operación.

Plant Growth Regulators on ‘Letícia’ Plum Fruit Set, Yield Performance and Fruit Quality Parameters in Southern Brazil

open access: yesAgriculture
Plant growth regulators (PGRs) such as aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG), 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP), and thidiazuron (TDZ) are widely used to improve fruit set and quality in stone fruits. This study evaluated the effects of these PGRs on fruit set, yield

Factor affecting in vitro propagation of some genotypes of Himalayan cedar [Cedrus deodara (Roxb. ex Lamb) G. Don.]

open access: yesAdvances in Horticultural Science, 2018
Four genotypes of Himalayan cedar were grown in vitro for assessing shoot proliferation. This experiment consist three parts. Initially, the explants (leafy and defoliated shoot-tips) of mature plants were disinfected and cultured on different basal ...

Cotton maturity and responses to harvest aids following chemical topping with mepiquat chloride during bloom period

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2022
Early maturity, complete defoliation and boll opening are essential for the efficient machine harvesting of cotton. Chemical topping, involving one extra application of mepiquat chloride (MC) in addition to its traditional multiple-application strategy ...

Responses of Peanut Somatic Embryos to Thidiazuron

open access: yesBiologia plantarum, 2003
Induction of both somatic embryogenesis and organogenesis in presence of thidiazuron is reported in peanut tissues. However the histological evidence of thidiazuron induced somatic embryogenesis was unclear. Thidiazuron triggered multiple shoot differentiation in the plumule of the embryos.

Duckweed‐based edible vaccine confers complete protection against avian infectious bronchitis virus by inducing robust mucosal and systemic immunity

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 11, Page 4683-4693, November 2025.
Summary Molecular farming using edible plants offers a cost‐effective strategy for vaccine production because plants serve as both bioreactors and oral delivery systems. Owing to its rapid clonal propagation and high protein content, duckweed represents a promising platform for this purpose. Here, we developed an edible duckweed‐based vaccine targeting

A Novel ZjbZIP33‐ZjPRX1 Module Positively Regulates Lignin Formation in the Jujube Fruit Stone

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, Volume 23, Issue 11, Page 4998-5012, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Fruit stones play an important role in fruit development and are closely related to fruit quality. Lignification of the fruit stone (endocarp) is a typical feature of stone fruits. Stoneless jujube is a valuable jujube germplasm resource, and the degree of lignification of its fruit stone is low.

Pencapaian Fase Embriosomatik Manggis (Garcinia mangostana L.) dengan Penambahan Thidiazuron dalam Medium Setengah MS Cair

open access: yesPlanta Tropika: Jurnal Agrosains, 2016
One of the problems related to the establishment of mangosteen plantation is to obtain seedlings throughout the year, which can be solved by micropropagation.   The propagation of Mangosteen was done through somatic embryogenesis.

Optimizing the application of a novel harvest aid to improve the quality of mechanically harvested cotton in the North China Plain

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Agriculture, 2021
Defoliation is an indispensable step in cotton production with mechanical harvesting, especially in the North China Plain (NCP) where mechanical harvesting is limited by a large proportion of green leaves and unopened bolls at harvest time due to ...
