The Thin-Walled Rod of an Open Cross-Section as an Element of a 3D-Structure

ZAMM Zeitschrift Fur Angewandte Mathematik Und Mechanik, 1997
AbstractThe relation for a rectilinear thin‐walled rod of an open cross‐section is established between displacements and corresponding forces applied at the ends of the rod. The problem is solved in a linear setting, taking into account a flexure, a uniform and nonuniform warping, and also an axial deformation.

Forced Vibrations of a Thin-Walled Rod of a Symmetric Profile

Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering, 2021
The paper provides an analytical solution to the problem of natural and forced vibrations of a thin-walled elastic rod with a symmetric profile. The mathematical model also considers the forces of viscous resistance, which, in accordance with the frequency-independent Voigt hypothesis, are introduced in the process of solving the problem.

Bending and Cramped Torsion of Thin-Walled Rods

Mechanics of Solids, 2019
The derivation of the equilibrium equations of bending and torsion of a thin-walled rod with an arbitrary contour of the cross section is given. The structural elements of the rod, represented by longeron and stringer belts, have tensile–compressive rigidity, and the panels perceive only shear.

Damping Accounting in Calculating Problem of Thin-Walled Rod of Closed Profile

Proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Industrial Engineering, 2018
We investigated the natural oscillations of a thin-walled rod of a closed profile with allowance for damping by the viscoelastic model by the example of fixed-ended rod. We obtained differential equations of thin-walled rod oscillations, taking into account the internal friction of the material and shifts from bending and constrained torsion.
