A novel rheological high pressure die-casting process for preparing large thin-walled Al–Si–Fe–Mg–Sr alloy with high heat conductivity, high plasticity and medium strength

, 2020
An air-cooled stirring rod (ACSR) process for efficiently preparing large volumes of semisolid slurry was introduced. A new low-cost casting Al–Si–Fe–Mg–Sr alloy was used to prepare large thin-walled heat-dissipating shells using both conventional HPDC ...

Theory of thin-walled rods in application to steel belt drives

2022

Analysis of thin-walled stiffened rods using the beam theory

Russian Aeronautics (Iz VUZ), 2011
The stress-strain state of thin-walled aircraft structures such as a wing or fuselage made of composite materials is determined based on the beam theory. The laminated skin is orthotropic. The solution was obtained without using the centroidal principal section axes and subdividing the problem in shear and torsion.

Limits of application of the oscillation theory of thin-walled rods

Strength of Materials, 1974
1. An empirical relationship has been proposed between the calculated and actual frequencies which allows the Vlasov theory of oscillations of thin-walled rods to be applied to the case where the longitudinal dimension is commensurate with the greatest transverse dimension. 2.

Cross-Sectional Warping of Thin-Walled Rods at Plane Frame Joints

2020
This paper investigates the cross-sectional warping of thin-walled rods at plane frame joints in the framework of the “semi-shear” theory of V. I. Slivker. Studied are the shell finite element models of rigid joints in bar structures, designed and calculated in the software package Ansys Workbench.

Mechanics of Thin-Walled Rods of Open Profile

2014
We consider rods, whose cross section is a thin open-ended strip. The effect of warping, when the points of the rod move axially at torsion, needs to be included in the analysis. Beginning with the discussion of traditional approaches, based on certain hypotheses and approximations, we proceed with the asymptotic study of the corresponding model of a ...

Industrialized Application of Rheo-HPDC Process for the Production of Large Thin-Walled Aluminum Alloy Parts

Solid State Phenomena, 2019
A simplified and efficient process, namely air-cooled stirring rod (ACSR), was proposed to prepare semisolid slurry of aluminum alloys. An advanced integrated rheological high pressure die-casting (Rheo-HPDC) technology was established by combining the ...
