Finite deformation analysis of a thin-walled tube sliding on a rough rigid rod

Journal of Engineering Mathematics, 1987
A thin-walled tube of finite length composed of a neo-Hookean material is sliding on a rough rigid rod under the action of forces distributed on its leading edge. A perturbation method is used to determine the stress and shape of the deformed tube to the second-order.

Model of thin-walled anisotropic rods

Mechanics of Composite Materials, 1988
This article proposes a model of a thin-walled anisotropic rod with a closed profile. The model is based on the adoption of kinematic hypotheses and the use of equations for thin anisotropic shells. The kinematic hypotheses describe the strain state of the cross section of the rod.

Thin Wall Austempered Ductile Iron Connecting Rod for Lighter Automotive Component - Production of Thin Wall Ductile Iron Connecting Rod

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2017
<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Lighter automotive components are produced to respond to global issue regarding energy. Lighter components can be achieved by replacing the material to those known as lighter material such as aluminium or applying thin wall casting technique.

Thin-Walled Rods with Semi-open Profiles

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 2012
The analysis of thin-walled rods with semiopened cross-section is performed in this article. An essential characteristic for this class of thin-walled beamlike structures is their closed but flattened profile. The unusual shape of semiopened thin-walled beams allows the efficient optimization due to wide variability of shapes.

Performance of Thin-Walled Stainless-Steel-Clad Fuel Rods

Nuclear Applications, 1965
Ten thin-walled Type-304 stainless-steel-clad fuel rods were irradiated as part of the Saxton core to a maximum burnup of 8900 MWd/t at a maximum heat flux of 410 000 Btu/(h ft2) (129 W/cm2).
