Effect of Surface Passivation on CdxNi1-xS Thin Films Embedded with Nickel Nanoparticles [PDF]
Certain treatments done to binary CdS, such as incorporating Ni onto CdS produces ternary thin films may cause major optical parameters that have a number of applications including for solar cell device fabrication. In this paper, we report on the effect

Abstract The thermoluminescence dosimeter (TLD) sheet is a measurement device coated with manganese‐doped LiB3O5 in sheet form. The sheet is 0.2‐mm thick and flexible. Hence, it can fit and be installed on irregular surfaces. The current study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of measuring patient surface doses during radiation therapy using TLD sheets.

Abstract Purpose Single‐isocenter multitarget (SIMT) radiosurgery has become increasingly popular as advancement in planning and delivery systems have made this approach clinically viable. With targets varying in size and distance from isocenter, SIMT plans are highly complex with dynamic multileaf collimator (MLC) motion.

Lanthanide-assisted deposition of strongly electro-optic PZT thin films on silicon: toward integrated active nanophotonic devices [PDF]
The electro-optical properties of lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thin films depend strongly on the quality and crystallographic orientation of the thin films.

High-Performance All-Optical Terahertz Modulator Based on Graphene/TiO2/Si Trilayer Heterojunctions
In this paper, we demonstrate a trilayer hybrid terahertz (THz) modulator made by combining a p-type silicon (p-Si) substrate, TiO2 interlayer, and single-layer graphene. The interface between Si and TiO2 introduced a built-in electric field, which drove

Ab initio structure modeling of complex thin-film oxides: thermodynamical stability of TiC/thin-film alumina [PDF]
We present an efficient and general method to identify promising candidate configurations for thin-film oxides and to determine structural characteristics of (metastable) thin-film structures using ab initio calculations. At the heart of this method is the complexity of the oxide bulk structure, from which a large number of thin films with structural ...
