Rational Design of Photo-Electrochemical Hybrid Devices based on Graphene and Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Light-Harvesting Proteins [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have been highlighted as the promising alternative to generate clean energy based on low pay-back time materials. These devices have been designed to mimic solar energy conversion processes from photosynthetic organisms (the most efficient energy transduction phenomenon observed in nature) with the aid of low-cost ...

Comparative chromatography of chloroplast pigment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
Methods for isolation of low concentration pigments of the cocklebur species are described. The methods entail two step chromatography so that the different sorption properties of the various pigments in varying column parameters can be utilized ...

Bioorthogonal Engineering of Cellular Microenvironments Using Isonitrile Ligations

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Highly selective chemistries are required for fabrication and post‐cross–linking modification of cell‐encapsulating hydrogels used in tissue engineering applications. Isonitrile ligation reactions represent a promising class of bioorthogonal chemistries for engineering hydrogel‐based cellular microenvironments. Isonitrile‐based hydrogels are stable and

Detection and quantification of phytosterols in yogurt using gas chromatography [PDF]

open access: yesBihdāsht-i Mavādd-i Ghaz̠āyī, 2019
Sterols form the largest proportion of the unsaponifiable fraction of lipids. Plant fats and oils contain phytosterol as naturally occurring constituents.

Engineered Peptides‐Based Hybrid‐Nested Microneedle Effectively Treat Biofilm‐Infected Diabetic Wounds

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hybrid‐nested microneedle/cryogel scaffold (MQW‐CMg‐MOF) is designed for efficient biofilm removal and accelerated healing of diabetic wounds. The scaffold shows substantial biofilm removal in vitro and in a preclinical diabetic swine biofilm‐infected wound model compared to the control.

Evolution through time of Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids detection and quantification [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Pyrrolizidine Alkaloids (PAs) are a group of naturally occurring alkaloids that are produced by plants as a defense mechanism against insect herbivores. The analytical methodologies employed for their detection have come a long way since the first analytical experiment and in the last 30 years had an enormous development, both technological and ...
