Efficient CO2-reducing activity of NAD-dependent formate dehydrogenase from Thiobacillus sp. KNK65MA for formate production from CO2 gas. [PDF]
NAD-dependent formate dehydrogenase (FDH) from Candida boidinii (CbFDH) has been widely used in various CO2-reduction systems but its practical applications are often impeded due to low CO2-reducing activity.

Reidentification of Thiobacillus perometabolis ATCC 27793 and Thiobacillus sp. Strain A2 with Reference to a New Species, Thiobacillus rapidicrescens sp. nov. [PDF]
Thiobacillus perometabolis THI 024 (= ATCC 27793) is closely related to Thiobacillus sp. strain A2T (type strain) (= THI 041T = ATCC 25364T), and these strains clearly differ from the known Thiobacillus species in their morphological and physiological characteristics, ubiquinone systems, deoxyribonucleic acid guanine-plus-cytosine contents, and ...

Schematic of a photoelectrochemical CO2‐to‐formic acid conversion. The outer circle highlights that the generated formic acid can be stored and later utilized as a fuel, while the emitted CO2 can be captured and recycled, ultimately contributing to a zero‐carbon emission cycle.

Thiobacillus cuprinus sp. nov., a Novel Facultatively Organotrophic Metal-Mobilizing Bacterium. [PDF]
Five strains of mesophilic, facultatively organotrophic, ore-leaching eubacteria were isolated from solfatara fields in Iceland and a uranium mine in the Federal Republic of Germany. The new organisms are aerobic gram-negative rods. They can use sulfidic

BIOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THIONIC FLUVISOL LINKED TO LAND USE TYPES IN SOUTHERN VIETNAM
Thionic Fluvisols soil in Southern Vietnam is like typical acid sulfate soil in the tropics and is severely polluted due to human activities. Salinity intrusion and industrial wastewater contamination are the main cause of environmental degradation in ...

Machine Learning Approaches to Assess Soil Microbiome Dynamics and Bio‐Sustainability
ABSTRACT Understanding soil microbiota dynamics is essential for enhancing bio‐sustainability in agriculture, yet the complexity of microbial communities hampers the prediction of their functional roles. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offer powerful tools to analyse high‐dimensional microbiome data generated by high‐throughput ...

Microbial Deterioration Potential and Mitigation Strategies in Blended Cement Structures: A Review
Microbial‐induced deterioration (MID) is a threat to the durability of cement‐based materials (CBMs) particularly in sewer and wastewater systems. Whereas blended cements incorporating supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) offer environmental benefits such as reduced carbon (IV) oxide (CO2) emissions and enhanced mechanical performance, their ...
