A Critical Overview of Common Foodborne Toxicants and Methods for Their Reliable Detection
ABSTRACT Food is an essential commodity for human health. However, toxicants such as mycotoxins, heavy metals, acrylamide, and pesticides can be present in food either naturally or through processing, packaging, or some anthropogenic activities. A thorough review of carefully selected studies revealed that climate change and pandemics have led to an ...

An expansion of the concept of pseudoglucosinolates (psGSLs) is reported introducing the first azoreductase‐responsive psGSL‐based probe releasing an isothiocyanate under simultaneous fluorescence turn‐on in the presence of AzoR, an azoreductase from Escherichia coli.

This systematic review highlights the antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory effects of watercress (WC) supplementation in randomized controlled trials. Despite the heterogeneity in WC formulations, dosage, follow‐up, and outcomes, WC demonstrated improvements in biomarkers such as IL‐1, IL‐6, TNF‐α, and antioxidant enzymes.

We present the design, synthesis, and application of thioglycosylated monolignol probes, functionalized for bioorthogonal labeling, to study lignin biosynthesis in plant cell walls. By incorporating stable sulfur‐linked glycosides with clickable tags, we enable precise in situ visualization of lignin through confocal fluorescence microscopy.

Abstract Bioactive compounds in fruit and vegetables have a positive impact on human health by reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, and the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular (CV) diseases, and metabolic disorders. However, some fruit and vegetables must be heated before consumption and thermal processes can modify the amount ...

Recent advances in self‐immobilizing fluorescent probes for in vivo imaging
Self‐immobilizing fluorescent probes selectively recognize diseased tissues while improving in situ retention and enrichment, which overcome the rapid clearance of molecular fluorescent probes from regions of interest, enabling accurate high‐fidelity fluorescence imaging.

Abstract Rhizosphere microbial community assembly results from microbe‐microbe‐plant interactions mediated by small molecules of plant and microbial origin. Studies with Arabidopsis thaliana have indicated a critical role of glucosinolates in shaping the root and/or rhizosphere microbial community, likely through breakdown products produced by plant or
