Canadian Journal of Chemistry, 1972Oxazole-2-thione was prepared by the condensation of glycolic aldehyde and thiocyanic acid. It was shown by i.r. spectroscopy that oxazole-2-thione, as well as its 4-methyl- and 4,5-dimethyl derivatives, existed as the thione form in solution.

Tetrahedron, 1963Abstract 1-Aryl (or alkyl)-4,5-( d -glucopyrano)imidazolidine-2-thiones are obtained by condensation of 2-amino-2-deoxy- d -glucose with aryl (or alkyl) isothiocyanates. 1-Aryl-4- d - arabino tetrahydroxybutylimidazoline-2-thiones are prepared by reaction of N-arylamino-1-deoxy- d -fructoses with potassium thiocyanate.
