Sulfur analogs of fluorinated pyrones, chromones and coumarins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
This mini-review describes the synthesis and reactions of sulfur analogs of partially fluorinated pyrones, chromones, coumarins and isocoumarins and their utility as building blocks for the synthesis of trifluoromethyl-containing heterocyclic compounds ...

Hydrogen Bonding is Key Factor in Reversible NH3 Uptake Causing Vapochromic and Magnetochemical Switching in Ni(II) Paddlewheel Complexes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, EarlyView.
Nickel complexes showing reversible vapochromic and spin crossover behaviors upon coordination and release of NH3 were synthesized. They bear bidentate pyridazine ligands, which allows for formation of hydrogen bonds between NH3 and the ligand in the second coordination sphere.

Effect of stevia supplementation of kale juice spheres on their quality changes during refrigerated shelf life [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Kale is a vegetable with high contents of health–promoting compounds although its consumption as a beverage is highly limited due to its bitter flavour. Nonetheless, the bitter flavour of Brassicas may be masked by sweetening.

Tautomerization Kinetics of Thiouracils at Low Temperatures Driven Solely by Quantum‐Mechanical Tunnelling: Predictions of Suitable Candidates for Future Experiments

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Kinetics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the past two decades numerous experiments have been conducted on the kinetics of reactions occurring at low temperatures on inert matrices. In particular, unimolecular proton‐transfer photo‐reactions of compounds containing a carbon–sulfur double bond, or thione group C═S, can lead to the formation of higher energy isomers or tautomers with

Synthesis of Substituted 2-Benzoylaminothiobenzamides and Their Ring Closure to Substituted 2-Phenylquinazoline-4-thiones

open access: yesMolecules, 2001
Acylation of 2-aminothiobenzamide or 2-methylaminothiobenzamide with substituted benzoyl chlorides has been used to synthesise the corresponding 2-benzoylaminothiobenzamides whose subsequent sodium methoxide-catalysed ring closure gives the corresponding

Enhanced Degradation of Vinyl Copolymers Based on Lipoic Acid

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 63, Issue 6, Page 1345-1351, 15 March 2025.
ABSTRACT The introduction of degradable units into the backbone of commodity vinyl polymers represents a major opportunity to address the societal challenge of plastic waste and polymer recycling. Previously, we reported the facile copolymerization of α‐lipoic acid derivatives containing 1,2‐dithiolane rings with vinyl monomers leading to the ...

Activation and regioselectivity of five-membered cyclic thionocarbamates to nucleophilic attack [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cyclic thionocarbamate of alaninol undergoes nucleophilic attack by sulfur nucleophiles at 5-C to give 1-thiopropyl-2-amine derivatives when derivatised on nitrogen with a Boc group.

Field investigation of glucosinolates and morphological traits in mitigating Psylliodes chrysocephala larval infestation through crop varieties and companion planting

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Genotype and cropping system influenced oilseed rape ecophysiological traits, including glucosinolate compounds (glucoraphanin, glucobrassicanapin, and butyl‐glucosinolates) and biomass, which were linked to Psylliodes chrysocephala larval infestation, with varietal effects stronger than faba bean companion planting.

Glucosinolate types and concentrations in seedlings of different Brassica species used for food [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Brassicaceous food crops contain in their tissues different quantities of the glucoside allelochemicals known as glucosinolates (Bellostas et al., 2004; Sørensen, 1990).
