Investigating the role of thiosulfate sulfurtransferase in adipose tissue dysfunction in obesity

open access: yes, 2018
Obesity is associated with dysfunction of adipose tissue due to oxidative stress and inflammation, leading to insulin resistance. Thiosulfate sulfurtransferase (Tst) was previously identified as an adipose-expressed anti-diabetic gene that protects against diet-induced metabolic impairment when upregulated in adipose tissue of mice.
