Magnetoelectric effects in an organo-metallic quantum magnet [PDF]
We observe a bilinear magnetic field-induced electric polarization of 50 $\mu C/m^2$ in single crystals of NiCl$_2$-4SC(NH$_2$)$_2$ (DTN). DTN forms a tetragonal structure that breaks inversion symmetry, with the highly polar thiourea molecules all tilted in the same direction along the c-axis. Application of a magnetic field between 2 and 12 T induces

A new catalytic approach for rapid asymmetric access to spirocycles is disclosed. The reaction involves a carbene- and thiourea-cocatalyzed desymmetrization process with the simultaneous installation of a spirocyclic core.

Using two ways of functionalizing amiridine—acylation with chloroacetic acid chloride and reaction with thiophosgene—we have synthesized new homobivalent bis-amiridines joined by two different spacers—bis-N-acyl-alkylene (3) and bis-N-thiourea-alkylene ...

Prediction of the anti-HIV activities of PETT analogs as non-nucleoside HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitors by linear and non-linear QSAR models [PDF]
Quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) models were constructed in order to predict the anti-HIV activity of a set of phenethyl thiazole thiourea (PETT) analogs by calculated descriptors.

The growth of 2D crystalline g-C3N4 films and the control of optoelectronic properties [PDF]
g-C3N4 is a novel semiconductor photocatalyst material; however, the low specific surface area and rapid carrier compliance hinder its photocatalytic performance. On the other hand, the synthesis of 2D g-C3N4 with high crystallinity remains challenging.

Using a halogen bond (XB) donor and Schreiner's thiourea as cooperative catalysts, various amides, including the asparagine residues of several peptides, were directly coupled with glycosyl trichloroacetimidates to give unique N-acylorthoamides in good ...

Impedimetric determination of low concentration of thiourea in Cu2+ containing acidic media on nanostructured platinum electrode [PDF]
Nowadays, detection of low concentration of thiourea (TU) in the presence of high amounts of metallic ions is one of the important challenges in different industries, especially electrochemical industries.

Effect of Thiourea on Lead Release from Lead-Bearing Jarosite under Freeze–Thaw Cycling
Lead is a toxic factor in jarosite residue, and it is important to study its release behavior from simulated lead jarosite residue (LSJ) to predict the stability of the jarosite residue and its impact on the environment.
