Influence of soil copper content on the kinetics of thiram adsorption and on thiram leachability from soils

open access: yesChemosphere, 2013
This work aimed to assess the influence of soil copper content on the sorption processes of thiram, a fungicide widely used in agriculture, most of the times together with copper. Two different types of studies were performed: (1) desorption studies of thiram with acetonitrile after batch adsorption equilibration, and ageing of the wet soil for a ...

Solubilization and Interactions of Thiram with Surfactants: Micellar Effects on Adsorption Characteristics of Thiram onto Activated Carbon

open access: yesJournal of Dispersion Science and Technology, 2014
The solubilization of thiram was studied in micellar solutions of two surfactants possessing the same hydrocarbon tail but different hydrophilic head groups, namely sodium dodecyl sulfate and dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide. Conductivity, spectrophotometry, and surface tension measurements have been used in quantitative analysis of the interaction ...

Thiram exposure in environment: A critical review on cytotoxicity

Chemosphere, 2022
Thiram is used in large quantities in agriculture and may contaminate the environment by improper handling or storage in chemical plants and warehouses. A review of the literature has shown that thiram can affect different organs in animals and its toxic mechanisms can be elucidated in more detail at molecular level.

Development of an Immunoassay (ELISA) for the Quantification of Thiram in Lettuce

open access: yesJournal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2001
Two competitive immunoassays, a laboratory assay based on microwell plates and a field test based on the use of polystyrene tubes, have been developed for the quantification of thiram in lettuces. Concerning the laboratory assay, the calibration curve for thiram had a linear range of 11 to 90 ng/mL and a detection limit of 5 ng/mL.

Removal of Thiram from Aqueous Solutions

open access: yesJournal of the Chinese Chemical Society, 2010
AbstractIn this study activated carbon was used for the removal of thiram from aqueous solutions. Adsorption experiments were carried out as a function of time, initial thiram concentration and temperature. Equilibrium data fitted well to the Freundlich and Langmuir equilibrium models in the studied concentration range.
