Shotgun Metagenomics Reveals Skin Microbiome Composition and Function in Infant Atopic Disease
Allergy, EarlyView.Deep shotgun metagenomics profiled > 1000 infant skin swabs in the VITALITY cohort. Distinct skin microbiome signatures separated AD alone from AD with allergic co‐occurrence. Early Staphylococcus enrichment preceded later AD with allergic co‐occurrence. FLG mutations and strain‐level analyses revealed host and microbial features linked to AD.Zeyang Shen, Jana K. Allergy, EarlyView. This is the first randomised placebo‐controlled trial of intralymphatic immunotherapy using a microcrystalline tyrosine‐adjuvanted grass pollen allergoid. Three ultrasound‐guided ILIT injections were well tolerated and reduced combined symptom‐medication scores compared with placebo. The findings support further optimisation and clinical development of Lara Šošić, Stephan C. Flory, Claudia C. V. Lang, Emma C. Widmer, Alexandra Chabot, Johannes M. Andrology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Background
Approximately one‐fourth of patients with clinical stage I testicular cancer relapse. For decades, risk stratification has been based on different tumor characteristics for seminomas and non‐seminomas. Previous studies primarily used Cox proportional‐hazards models and included only a limited number of variables.Thomas Wagner, Ramtin Zargari Marandi, Jakob Lauritsen, Daniel Dawson Murray, Mikkel Bandak, Birgitte Grønkær Toft, Dan Berney, Gedske Daugaard +7 morewiley +1 more sourceNeurocognitive Profile of Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder: Cognitive Flexibility, Delay Discounting, and Detail Orientation. ANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.Academic performance and short‐term research outcomes were similar by student gender, suggesting that disparities in surgical training and academia are unlikely to be explained by differences in academic capability or early research productivity.Chan Ho Kim, Nazim Bhimani, Anthony R. Artificial Organs, EarlyView.Extracorporeal albumin dialysis (OPAL) effectively reduces bilirubin and improves other laboratory markers in posthepatectomy liver failure, particularly in secondary forms. It may serve as a bridging therapy to support hepatic recovery in critically ill patients, although prospective studies are needed to confirm its impact on survival.Dorian Marckmann, Emely Wack, Luisa Schäfer, H.
