Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Revisiting Compassion and Job Performance: A Constructive Study in South Korean Public Art Institutions

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences
This study empirically examines how employee compassion relates to job performance. Specifically, this study is a constructive replication and expansion of a previous study on the relationship between compassion and job performance using multiple sources

Three‐dimensional genome structure and function

open access: yesMedComm, 2023
Linear DNA undergoes a series of compression and folding events, forming various three‐dimensional (3D) structural units in mammalian cells, including chromosomal territory, compartment, topologically associating domain, and chromatin loop.

Steady streaming confined between three-dimensional wavy surfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present a theoretical and numerical study of three-dimensional pulsatile confined flow between two rigid horizontal surfaces separated by an average gap h, and having three-dimensional wavy shapes with arbitrary amplitude σ h where σ ∼ O(1), but long ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Three-Dimensional Echo and Three-Dimensional Transesophageal Echocardiography for Mitral Valve Disease

open access: yesJournal of the Indian Academy of Echocardiography & Cardiovascular Imaging, 2019
Three-dimensional (3D) echocardiography is one of the greatest technologies, which has a significant contribution in the field of valvular heart disease, especially after the development of real-time (RT) capability in transthoracic as well as ...

Anisotropic three-dimensional MHD turbulence

open access: yes, 1996
Direct spectral method simulation of the three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) equations is used to explore anisotropy that develops from initially isotropic fluctuations as a consequence of a uniform applied magnetic field.

Experimental demonstration of holographic three-dimensional light shaping using a Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We use a three-dimensional Gerchberg–Saxton algorithm (Shabtay (2003) Opt. Commun. 226 33) to calculate the Fourier-space representation of physically realizable light beams with arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional intensity distributions.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

New method of holographic three-dimensional tracking of living cells exploiting their morphological properties

open access: yes, 2013
We propose a new strategy of three-dimensional (3D) tracking of living cells by digital holography microscopy based on the morphological changes of cells during the migration.
