Purification and properties of threonine dehydratase from Rhodopseudomonas spheroides
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Enzymology, 1972Abstract Biosynthetic threonine dehydratase ( l -threonine hydro-lyase (deaminating), EC 4.2.1.16) has been purified about 3000-fold from cell-free extracts of the photosynthetic bacterium, Rhodopseudomonas spheroides . The addition of dithiothreitol, pyridoxal phosphate and allothreonine was essential for stabilization of the enzyme during both ...

Purification and Some Properties of Threonine Dehydratase from Yeast
European Journal of Biochemistry, 1971Biosynthetic L‐threonine dehydratase was purified from bakers' yeast and crystallized. The enzyme was homogeneous as judged by ultracentrifugation and electrophoresis. s20, was 9.2 S, and the molecular weight was estimated to be approximately 185000. The enzyme exhibits a slight yellow color.

Catabolite inactivation of biodegradative threonine dehydratase of Escherichia coli
Biochemistry, 1975Incubation of Escherichia coli cells with glucose, pyruvate, and certain other metabolites led to rapid inactivation of inducible biodegradative threonine dehydratase. Analysis with several mutant strains showed that pyruvate, and not a metabolite derived from pyruvate, was capable of inactivating enzyme, and that glucose acted indirectly after being ...

Comparative studies on threonine and serine dehydratases in rat liver
International Journal of Biochemistry, 19801. Two isoenzymes of serine (threonine) dehydratase can be separated by DEAE cellulose chromatography. 2. Each of these isoenzymes possesses different S:T (serine dehydratase activity: threonine dehydratase activity) ratio and kinetic properties. 3. In early postnatal development, the S:T ratio shows marked variation. 4.

Threonine dehydratase activity in humans lacking cystathionine synthase
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1965Abstract Evidence has been presented that cystathionine synthase (L-serine hydro-lyase (adding L-homocysteine) E.C.4.2.1.21) of rat liver catalyzes two additional reactions: serine deamination (L-serine hydro-lyase (deaminating) E.C.4.2.1.13) (Selim and Greenberg, 1959) and threonine deamination (L-threonine hydro-lyase (deaminating) E.C.4.2.1.16)

Cofactor Identification of Threonine-Serine Dehydratase from Sheep Liver
Protein Expression and Purification, 1993L-Threonine-serine dehydratase catalyzes the conversion of L-threonine and L-serine to alpha-ketobutyric acid and pyruvate, respectively. The enzyme has been purified to homogeneity from extracts of sheep liver. In the past, various cofactors have been suggested for threonine dehydratase from both prokaryotic and eukaryotic tissue.

l-Threonine dehydratase activity of axenically grown Hartmannella culbertsoni
Archiv fr Mikrobiologie, 19720730 09 1. l-Threonine dehydratase (E.C. 4.2.1.16) activity in the cell-free extracts of the trophozoites of Hartmannella culbertsoni has been purified 20-fold. 2. The enzyme requires pyridoxal-5-phosphate for its activity and is not cold-labile.

SP0454, a putative threonine dehydratase, is required for pneumococcal virulence in mice
Journal of Microbiology, 2012Increasing pressure in antibiotic resistance and the requirement for the design of new vaccines are the objectives of clarifying the putative virulence factors in pneumococcal infection. In this study, the putative threonine dehydratase sp0454 was inactivated by erythromycin-resistance cassette replacement in Streptococcus pneumoniae CMCC 31203 strain.
