Thresholds and mechanisms of human magnetophosphene perception induced by low frequency sinusoidal magnetic fields

open access: yesBrain Stimulation
Background: Virtually everyone is exposed to power-frequency MF (50/60 Hz), inducing in our body electric fields and currents, potentially modulating brain function.

The shape of the contact–density function matters when modelling parasite transmission in fluctuating populations [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2017
Models of disease transmission in a population with changing densities must assume a relation between infectious contacts and density. Typically, a choice is made between a constant (frequency-dependence) and a linear (density-dependence) contact–density

Sustained Therapeutic Efficacy of Intravenous Plasminogen Concentrate in Pediatric Patients With Type 1 Plasminogen Deficiency: An Analysis of Dosing Parameters and Clinical Outcomes

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Type 1 plasminogen deficiency (PLGD‐1) is an ultra‐rare autosomal recessive disorder caused by variants in the PLG gene and affects approximately 1.6 individuals per million. The condition is characterized by decreased plasminogen levels and impaired function, resulting in fibrin‐rich lesions on mucous membranes throughout the body.

Presidential Threshold Between the Threshold of Candidacy and Threshold of Electability [PDF]

open access: yesJURNAL CITA HUKUM, 2018
Abstract. In judicial review on Article 9 of Law Number 42 of 2008 on The Election of President and Vice-President which regulates Presidential threshold, the Constitutional Court refused on the grounds that it is an open legal policy which mandated by Article 6 paragraph (5) of the 1945 Constitution that the administration of the election of President

At the Threshold of Architecture [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Art & Design Education, 2001
In structuring the programme of our interior design studio, we questioned two assumptions that are central to the discourse of modern architecture: the site being empty of its unique traits, images, stories; and the user being devoid of human subjectivities, perception, imagination, memory.

Health Literacy, Self‐Efficacy and Knowledge of Sickle Cell Disease Among Caregivers

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder in which abnormal haemoglobin leads to severe anaemia, painful crises and organ failure. Caregivers’ health literacy (HL) – their ability to assess, understand and apply information, and interact with healthcare professionals – is crucial for managing children with SCD, yet ...

Frequency responses of human magnetophosphene perception thresholds during dark adaptation point to rod modulation

open access: yesExperimental Physiology
Magnetophosphenes are flickering lights perceived when an extremely low frequency magnetic field generates a sufficiently strong electric field in the head.
