The authors applied joint/mixed models that predict mortality of trifluridine/tipiracil‐treated metastatic colorectal cancer patients based on circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) trajectories. Patients at high risk of death could be spared aggressive therapy with the prospect of a higher quality of life in their remaining lifetime, whereas patients with a ...

Iterative Sound Source Localization for Unknown Number of Sources [PDF]
Sound source localization aims to seek the direction of arrival (DOA) of all sound sources from the observed multi-channel audio. For the practical problem of unknown number of sources, existing localization algorithms attempt to predict a likelihood-based coding (i.e., spatial spectrum) and employ a pre-determined threshold to detect the source number

Percolation thresholds for discorectangles: numerical estimation for a range of aspect ratios [PDF]
Using Monte Carlo simulation, we have studied the percolation of discorectangles. Also known as stadiums or two-dimensional spherocylinders, a discorectangle is a rectangle with semicircles at a pair of opposite sides. Scaling analysis was performed to obtain the percolation thresholds in the thermodynamic limits.

The analysis of diseases occurring is given in animals in the first 100 DIM. Determined milk content: MF, MP, pH, Ur, BHBA, Ac, calculated FPR. INCD in milk cows in the first 100 DIM is the second most widespread – 30.72 %.

This study simultaneously investigated circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and exosomes from small‐cell lung cancer (SCLC) patients. The elevated expression of JUNB and CXCR4 in CTCs was a poor prognostic factor for SCLC patients, whereas exosomal overexpression of these biomarkers revealed a high discrimination ability of patients from healthy individuals,

Abstract This study uses longitudinal data from the UK Millennium Cohort Study (N = 13,277) to examine the childhood and early adolescence factors that predict weapon involvement in middle adolescence, which in this study is exemplified by having carried or used a weapon.

Lower limit of percolation threshold on a square lattice with complex neighborhoods [PDF]
In this paper, the 60-year-old concept of long-range interaction in percolation problems introduced by Dalton, Domb, and Sykes, is reconsidered. With Monte Carlo simulation -- based on Newman-Ziff algorithm and finite-size scaling hypothesis -- we estimate 64 percolation thresholds for random site percolation problem on a square lattice with ...

Exposure to Metal Accumulation in Chicken Giblets and Human Health Risk in Lokoja, Nigeria
When consumed, the toxic heavy metals in chicken giblets pose a grave risk to humans. An inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) was used to measure the concentrations of metals (Al, Cd, Co, Cr, Ni, Mn, and Pb) in the liver ...

VASP was found to be overexpressed in metastatic oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) tissues. Notably, PTTG1‐ and VASP‐deficient OSCC cells demonstrated suppressed metastatic properties by disrupting the interaction between the cytoskeleton and focal adhesion (FAs) in the filopodia region.
