Some Experiments in Extreme‐Value Statistical Modeling of Magnetic Superstorm Intensities

open access: yesSpace Weather, 2020
In support of projects for forecasting and mitigating the deleterious effects of extreme space weather storms, an examination is made of the intensities of magnetic superstorms recorded in the Dst index time series (1957–2016).

Homoclinic bifurcations in low-Prandtl-number Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard convection with uniform rotation

open access: yes, 2013
We present results of direct numerical simulations on homoclinic gluing and ungluing bifurcations in low-Prandtl-number ($ 0 \leq Pr \leq 0.025 $) Rayleigh-B\'{e}nard system rotating slowly and uniformly about a vertical axis.

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Predication of Heavy Ion Single Event Upset Threshold and Cross Section Based on Low Energy Proton Test Data in Nanometer Devices

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu
In order to ensure the reliability of heavy ion single event effect experimental data and the accuracy of space on-orbit single event error rate prediction, the research was conducted on the method of predicting the equivalent silicon layer thickness ...

Magnetic catalysis and anisotropic confinement in QCD

open access: yes, 2002
The expressions for dynamical masses of quarks in the chiral limit in QCD in a strong magnetic field are obtained. A low energy effective action for the corresponding Nambu-Goldstone bosons is derived and the values of their decay constants as well as ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Disease structure of milk cows and the effect of the mass fractions ratio of fat and protein in milk on the level of the metabolites

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2020
The analysis of diseases occurring is given in animals in the first 100 DIM. Determined milk content: MF, MP, pH, Ur, BHBA, Ac, calculated FPR. INCD in milk cows in the first 100 DIM is the second most widespread – 30.72 %.

Bayesian inference for orbital eccentricities

open access: yes, 2012
Highest posterior density intervals (HPDI's) are derived for the true eccentricities of spectroscopic binaries with measured values e ~ 0. These yield upper limits when e is below the detection threshold e_th and seamlessly transform to upper and lower ...
