Interaction of HS1BP3 with cortactin modulates TKS5 localisation, cell secretion and cancer malignancy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Here, we demonstrate that HS1BP3 interacts with Cortactin through a proline‐rich region (PRR3.1) and show that this interaction, and HS1BP3 itself, promote cancer cell proliferation and invasion. Inhibition of this interaction leads to build‐up of TKS5 in multivesicular endosomes and altered secretion of CD63 and CD9, providing an explanation for the ...

Heavy metals' data in soils for agricultural activities

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
In this article, the heavy metals in soils for agricultural activities were analyzed statistically. Ten (10) soil samples were randomly taken across the agricultural zones in Odo-Oba, southwestern Nigeria. Ten (10) metals; namely: copper (Cu), lead (Pb),

Statistical models for dependent and non-stationary extreme events [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Extreme value methods are used in a wide range of applications, for example they may be used for modelling wave heights and river levels in hydrology, wind speeds in structural engineering and share price return levels in economics.

An Analysis of Changes in Threshold Limit Values Over Time

open access: yes, 1993
Threshold Limit Values (TLVs) for industrial chemicals have been in existence since 1946. It has been proposed that the rate of change of TLVs over the years reflects the rate of change of exposure within industry (Roach and Rappaport, 1990).

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Defining threshold values for pavement surface characteristics

open access: yes, 2015
In the context of a rational road management strategy, pavement surface characteristics, which significantly affect comfort and safety, have to be adequately monitored and appraised in the frame of routine or preventive maintenance activities.

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
