Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

The role of threshold limit values in U.S. air pollution policy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
This paper analyzes the role of threshold limit values (TLVs) in national air pollution policy during the 1980s, a period in which the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) sought to delegate to individual states the authority to evaluate and regulate ...

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Impact of Delayed Decaying Corruption Effects on a Socioeconomic System with Economic Growth and Unemployment

open access: yesMathematics
This paper is devoted to the study of the dynamical behaviors of a socioeconomic mathematical model with a discrete time delay. The model includes economic growth, corruption, and unemployment, which are some of the main factors driving the economy of a ...

THRESHOLD MODELS IN THEORY AND PRACTICE

open access: yes
Threshold models have gained much recent attention in applied economics for modeling nonlinear behavior. The appeal for these models is due in part to the observable pattern that many economic variables follow, such as asymmetric adjustment towards ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Inhibition of cyclin‐dependent kinases 12/13 using CT7439 as a treatment for colorectal cancer with CDK12 upregulation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The proposed mechanism of action for the CDK12/13 inhibitor and cyclin K degrader, CT7439. CDK12/13 inhibition interrupts transcription elongation, leading to increased DNA damage that results in cell death. This agent is a potentially novel treatment option for patients with colorectal cancer. Created in BioRender. Cyclin‐dependent kinase (CDK) 12 and

Analytical Method for Differentiation of Chilled and Frozen-Thawed Chicken Meat

open access: yesActa Universitatis Cibiniensis. Series E: Food Technology, 2014
: Chilled and frozen chicken breast and thigh meat were stored at +4±1 oC and - 20±1 oC, respectively. Maillard reaction between ribose and meat proteins of the chicken samples was initiated.

State space modelling of extreme values with particle filters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
State space models are a flexible class of Bayesian model that can be used to smoothly capture non-stationarity. Observations are assumed independent given a latent state process so that their distribution can change gradually over time. Sequential Monte
