Gap Detection Threshold in Children with Down Syndrome: A Brief Report

open access: yesAuditory and Vestibular Research
Background and Aim: Auditory discrimination is one of reasons for low performance of phonological processing in people with Down syndrome. This study aims to evaluate the auditory discrimination performance of children with Down syndrome to explore a ...

Online shopping and potential changes to the low value threshold: costs and benefits for government, consumers and retailers [PDF]

open access: yes
Imposing the GST on different types of imports has been a contentious topic for some time. Different parts of Australian society stand to benefit or lose significantly depending on how, or whether, the system is changed.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Examining alternatives to wavelet de-noising for astronomical source finding

open access: yes, 2012
The Square Kilometre Array and its pathfinders ASKAP and MeerKAT will produce prodigious amounts of data that necessitate automated source finding. The performance of automated source finders can be improved by pre-processing a dataset.

Research of partial discharge detection for XLPE cable

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2014
In order to extract characteristics of partial discharge signals, the paper proposed an adaptive threshold algorithm for processing partial discharge data by using ensemble empirical mode decomposition method for analysis of XLPE cable partial discharge ...

A Self-Organized Method for Computing the Epidemic Threshold in Computer Networks

open access: yes, 2018
In many cases, tainted information in a computer network can spread in a way similar to an epidemics in the human world. On the other had, information processing paths are often redundant, so a single infection occurrence can be easily "reabsorbed ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...
