Pre-operative thromboelastography predicts transfusion during liver transplantation
Orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT) can require large volumes of blood products. Identifying patients unlikely to need platelet transfusion would conserve inventory.

Abstract Background Traumatic brain injury (TBI) carries significant mortality and morbidity in civilian and military populations. Current treatment guidelines for TBI are primarily supportive, and no pharmacological agent exists to attenuate the progression of brain injury.

Parameters of Thromboelastography in Healthy Newborns [PDF]
Thromboelastography (TEG) aids in monitoring a patient's global hemostatic system by measuring the rate of clot formation, clot strength, and stability. The usefulness of TEG in pediatric settings, especially with neonates, is limited owing to a lack of neonatal reference values.

Estrogen as a therapeutic agent: Targeting endotheliopathy and coagulopathy in trauma
Abstract Background Traumatic injury remains a leading cause of death, often due to uncontrolled hemorrhage and trauma‐induced coagulopathy (TIC). TIC is critically triggered by the endotheliopathy of trauma, involving endothelial cell injury and glycocalyx degradation. Despite conventional advances, the stable casualty rate underscores the urgent need

Viscoelastic haemostasis assays (VHA) are increasingly used in clinical practice. These bedside whole-blood tests, commonly implemented through thromboelastography (TEG) and rotational thromboelastometry (ROTEM), are prized for their speed, accuracy, and

Evaluation of thromboelastography in bitches with pyometra [PDF]
We investigated the effect of pyometra on kaolin-activated thromboelastography (TEG). Eighteen client-owned dogs with pyometra and 8 healthy spayed dogs were recruited. TEG parameters and packed cell volume were determined. Results from spayed females and from intact females with pyometra were compared using a Student t-test and Wilcoxon rank sum test.

Anesthesia Management Using Remimazolam in A Patient With Bernard‐Soulier Syndrome: A Case Report
Bernard‐Soulier syndrome (BSS) is a platelet dysfunction disorder characterized by massive thrombocytopenia and a lack of platelet aggregation. Remimazolam, a short‐acting benzodiazepine sedative, is believed to have minimal effects on platelets.
