Integrated thrust ripple identification and compensation for linear servo system using an MP algorithm

ISA Transactions, 2023
Generally there are two methods for the thrust ripple modeling: one is to identify the eigenvalues and the model parameters of thrust ripple sequentially under rigorous operating conditions; another is to treat thrust ripple as a general and inaccurate disturbance.

Thrust Ripple Minimization of PMLSM Using Robust Two Degrees-of-Freedom controller and Thrust Ripple Observer

2021 IEEE International Conference on Real-time Computing and Robotics (RCAR), 2021
The permanent-magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) has been widely applied in the servo control system. However, the thrust ripple and parameter mismatching inevitable exist in the PMLSM drive system, which reduces the tracking performance and stability.

Thrust Ripple Analysis on Toroidal-Winding Linear Permanent Magnet Vernier Machine

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2018
Linear permanent magnet Vernier machines (LPMVM) have received more and more attention in recent years due to the advantages of high thrust density and low thrust ripple, which are both required in many direct-drive applications. In this paper, a double-sided toroidal-winding LPMVM (DSTWLPMVM) is proposed, and the thrust ripple sources for this type of

Thrust Ripple of a Permanent Magnet LSM With Step Skewed Magnets

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2012
This paper analyzes the thrust characteristics of the investigated permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) and discusses their differences with those of rotary motors. It shows that the main components of the thrust ripple are second, fourth, and sixth harmonics, which is produced by end-effect, not the 12th harmonic caused by cogging.

Analysis of End Effect on Thrust Ripple in Linear Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine

2022 International Electrical Engineering Congress (iEECON), 2022
The linear brushless doubly-fed machine (LBDFM) as a novel type of machine has attracted extensive attention in recent years. Due to the complex magnetic fields and end effect, there is rich low-frequency thrust ripple in LBDFM.

Thrust ripple analysis and suppression of a dual-PM transverse flux linear machine

International Journal of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics
Linear machines with high thrust force and low thrust ripple are essential for linear direct-drive applications. The transverse flux machines gain the advantage of high force density by decoupling of electric and magnetic loadings. However, there exists high thrust ripple defecting its performance.
