Modelling Rocket System Performance Parameters

open access: yesAcademy Journal of Science and Engineering, 2022
What distinguishes the rocket system from airbreathing engines is that the rocket carries its own propellants, fuel and oxidants.  The modern rocket was originally developed for ballistic missiles.

Research on the life-limiting sputtering mechanism of 30 cm ion thruster

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2022
“Pits-and-grooves” patterns on the downstream accelerator grid surface had a severe effect on the thruster life; however, the sputtering patterns on the decelerator grid upstream surface were also observed after the thruster worked for over 3000 h ...

Self consistent kinetic simulations of SPT and HEMP thrusters including the near-field plume region

open access: yes, 2009
The Particle-in-Cell (PIC) method was used to study two different ion thruster concepts - Stationary Plasma Thrusters (SPT) and High Efficiency Multistage Plasma Thrusters (HEMP-T), in particular the plasma properties in the discharge chamber due to the ...

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

Numerical simulation and experimental research of LRIT-30 radio frequency ion thruster

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
This study aimed at discussing the laws of the design parameters of a radio frequency (RF) ion thruster that influence the thruster performance, guide the performance optimization-oriented design of the thruster, and realize the high-accuracy continuous ...

LISA pathfinder micronewton cold gas thrusters: in-flight characterization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The LISA Pathfinder (LPF) mission has demonstrated the ability to limit and measure the fluctuations in acceleration between two free falling test masses down to sub-femto-g levels. One of the key elements to achieve such a level of residual acceleration

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

Multiparameter Collaborative Optimization and Analysis of the Non-Penetrating Tunnel Thruster

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
A brand new non-penetrating tunnel thruster (short for NPT thruster) is proposed in this paper. The tunnel structural parameters of the thruster are optimized, and the performance and optimization effect are verified by experiments. First, the design and

Applying multi-objective optimization approaches to design an optimal controller for orbital docking by consideration of actuators dynamics and comparing results [PDF]

open access: yesفصلنامه علوم و فناوری فضایی, 2020
The final phase of orbital rendezvous and docking has been studied in this article. The main objective is to control the position of a chaser that can reach the target in the minimum time, or in other words, bypassing the optimal path.

Whole‐Body Pattern of Muscle Degeneration and Progression in Sarcoglycanopathies

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To characterize whole‐body intramuscular fat distribution pattern in patients with sarcoglycanopathies and explore correlations with disease severity, duration and age at onset. Methods Retrospective, cross‐sectional, multicentric study enrolling patients with variants in one of the four sarcoglycan genes who underwent whole‐body ...
