Lasing in diode-pumped thulium and thulium, holmium YAP
Advanced Solid State Lasers, 1996The comparison between room temperature cw lasing in thulium and thulium, holmium doped YAP crystals pumped by a single 3 W laser diode under identical experimental conditions is described.

EPR studies of the valence states of thulium in thulium monochalcogenides
Journal of Low Temperature Physics, 1977We have studied theGd3+ EPR at 9.2 HGz in 0.1 at % GdS inTmS, 1 at %GdTe inTmTe, and 1 at %GdSe inTmSe. From the temperature dependence of theGd3+ linewidth we have concluded thatTm inTmS is trivalent. The temperature variation of theGd3+ linewidth inTmTe has been interpreted as the result of the “delocalization” of the extra electron “localized ...

Nature, 1949
WE have recently made a detailed study of the beta disintegration of 127-day thulium-170, and have obtained results which are in general agreement with those of Saxon and Richards1, but which do not agree with those recently reported by Grant and Richmond2.

Nuclear Schottky effect in thulium
Physical Review B, 1995The nuclear contribution to the specific heat of thulium has been investigated in the temperature range 0.02--0.6 K and in the presence of a magnetic field. The data can be well fitted to C=\ensuremath{\gamma}T+\ensuremath{\alpha}${\mathit{T}}^{3}$+${\mathit{C}}_{\mathit{N}}$, where the first two terms represent the electronic and the lattice ...

Experimental verification of thulium lithotripsy
Urologiia, 2018Experimental evaluation of the efficacy and safety of lithotripsy using a new pulsed thulium fiber laser operating at a wavelength of 1.94 microns, peak power of 500 watts (maximum average power of 50 watts) by comparing it with a holmium laser operating at a wavelength of 2.1 microns (average maximum power 100 W and 120 W).The proportion of minimally ...

Luminescent thulium centers in ZnSe crystals doped with thulium and lithium
Solid State Communications, 1972Abstract Luminescence, absorption and Zeeman effects characteristic of Tm 3+ ions in ZnSe crystals doped with Tm and Li are studied. The parallel and perpendicular g -values in the ground state of a center, responsible for the strongest luminescence, are 13·74 and zero, respectively.

The solar abundance of thulium
Solar Physics, 1974Consideration of one relatively unblended line of the solar spectrum, namely, the 3131.258-A line of Tm II, which yields a thulium abundance of 0.80 plus or minus 0.10 with the Corliss and Bozman (1962) f-value. The uncertainty of this figure is discussed in conjunction with the contradictory findings of some other investigators. The need for further

Magnetic Structures of Thulium
Physical Review, 1962Neutron diffraction studies on polycrystalline and singlecrystal specimens of thulium were made at room temperature to 1.3 deg K. The results are interpreted by a method exhibiting explicitly the Fourier components of the distribution of magnetic moments on the lattice sites. At about 56 deg K, the Neel temperature, a simple oscillating zcomponent-type

Thulium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate
Journal of EndourologyIntroduction: Anatomical endoscopic enucleation of the prostate (AEEP) is considered a size-independent method for treating lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) secondary to benign prostatic obstruction (BPO) according to current international BPO guidelines.
