Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1976The effects of uniaxial stress on the optical spectra of TmVO4 and TmAsO4 have been studied at liquid helium temperatures. For both these Jahn-Teller systems the predominant interactions have been found to be the coupling of the electronic system to bulk strain.

Luminescent thulium centers in ZnSe crystals doped with thulium and lithium
Solid State Communications, 1972Abstract Luminescence, absorption and Zeeman effects characteristic of Tm 3+ ions in ZnSe crystals doped with Tm and Li are studied. The parallel and perpendicular g -values in the ground state of a center, responsible for the strongest luminescence, are 13·74 and zero, respectively.
