Drafting the calmodulation playbook: Emerging structural insights into transient receptor potential channel regulation by calmodulin

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Calmodulin (CaM) is a ubiquitous calcium (Ca2+) sensor that translates intracellular Ca2+ signals into modulation of hundreds of effector proteins including ion channels. CaM is increasingly recognized as a key regulator of the transient receptor potential (TRP) channel family, yet the underlying ‘calmodulation playbook’ is only ...

Nanotechnology‐Based Immunostimulants in Aquaculture: Mechanisms, Advances and Practical Applications

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 5, September 2026.
Nano‐immunostimulants improve fish health through targeted and controlled delivery of immunostimulatory compounds. Biodegradable polymeric and lipid‐based nanocarriers enhance immune responses, bioavailability and disease resistance while reducing antibiotic dependence and environmental impact.

High‐Concentration Hydrogen Peroxide Gels Containing Calcium Polyphosphate Associated With Violet Led Light: Bleaching Efficacy and Effects on Enamel Properties

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Volume 38, Issue 9, Page 1731-1743, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the effect of violet LED light (VL) and hydrogen peroxide (HP) in‐office bleaching gels supplemented with calcium polyphosphate (CaPP) or calcium gluconate (GU): Materials and Methods Bovine enamel blocks (n = 10) were randomly assigned: commercial HP gel, commercial HP gel with GU, or experimental 35% HP with or without

Thymol Detoxifies and Reduces Cadmium Accumulation in Vegetables by Activating Multiple Antioxidative Systems and Regulating Cadmium Transport

open access: yesAgronomy
Toxic Cd (cadmium) pollution in agricultural soil has been drawing global attention. Using exogenous regulators to detoxify Cd in crops is a promising approach to alleviate Cd stress and prevent Cd accumulation in human bodies through the food chain ...

Effects of Bleaching Protocols on the Esthetic Outcome and Surface Integrity of Enamel Treated With an Ammonia‐Free Silver Fluoride Solution

open access: yesJournal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry, Volume 38, Issue 9, Page 1754-1765, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective To investigate the effects of three bleaching protocols on the color stability and surface roughness of enamel previously treated with a water‐based, ammonia‐free silver fluoride solution (Riva Star Aqua). Materials and Methods Eighty‐eight human enamel/dentin specimens were demineralized and treated with Riva Star Aqua, divided into

From Fragments to Function: Novel Hydrazone Derivatives as Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
Twelve N‐acylhydrazone derivatives (5a–f, 6a–f) were synthesized and characterized. Compounds displayed potent submicromolar inhibition against both MAO‐A and MAO‐B. Compound 6e exhibited the strongest activity (IC50 = 0.073 μM for MAO‐A; 0.064 μM for MAO‐B). Kinetic and docking analyses confirmed reversible, competitive inhibition via FAD interaction.

Synthesis of Carboxyl Terminated Polymyrcene by Anionic Polymerization Using CO2 as a Terminating Agent

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, Volume 64, Issue 16, Page 3382-3390, 15 August 2026.
The anionic polymerization of myrcene and termination with carbon dioxide to produce carboxyl terminated chains were investigated. The highest degree of functionalization was obtained in the batch reactor by headspace addition of the CO2 to the unstirred reactor at −78°C.

Phytochemical Composition, In Vitro Antioxidant, Antibacterial, and Antibiofilm Activities of Thymus vulgaris Essential Oil From Tiaret, Algeria

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 8, August 2026.
Thymus vulgaris essential oil (TvEO), largely composed of thymol, showed strong bactericidal activity with Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) being most sensitive. TvEO markedly inhibited MRSA biofilm formation and significantly reduced established biofilms. Molecular docking suggests several TvEO components interact with proteins involved in S.

Lippia umbellata Cav.: Chemical Composition, Insecticidal, and Antimicrobial Activities

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 8, August 2026.
Hexane extracts of Lippia umbellata leaves and flowers contain lupenone, α‐amyrin, and hentriacontane. They exhibit insecticidal activity against Drosophila melanogaster and inhibit AChE in vitro and in silico. Furthermore, the extracts can inhibit the growth of medically important bacteria and yeasts, including multidrug‐resistant strains.
