TET3 Mediates 5hmC Level and Promotes Tumorigenesis by Activating AMPK Pathway in Papillary Thyroid Cancer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Endocrinology, 2022
Thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine malignant tumor. The accurate risk stratification and prognosis assessment is particularly important for patients with thyroid cancer, which can reduce the tumor recurrence rate, morbidity, and mortality ...

Comparison of delayed bleeding to immediate bleeding following thyroidectomy

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
It is important to identify risk factors for post-thyroidectomy bleeding requiring airway intervention or reoperation. Therefore, we aimed to compare the characteristics of patients with postoperative bleeding after thyroid surgery according to the ...

Postpartum Thyroiditis [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, 2002
Postpartum thyroiditis (PPT) is the occurrence, in the postpartum period, of transient hyperthyroidism and/or transient hypothyroidism, with most women returning to the euthyroid state by 1 year postpartum. The prevalence of PPT varies from 1.1 to 16.7%, with a mean prevalence of 7.5%.

European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline and EXPeRT Recommendations for the Diagnosis and Management of Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Neoplasms in Children and Adolescents

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

Prevalence and characteristics of misdiagnosed adult-onset type 1 diabetes mellitus in Thai people by random plasma C-peptide testing

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Background: It is critical to determine the exact type of diabetes because misclassification led to inappropriate treatments. The classification of DM can be aided by the measurement of pancreatic autoantibodies and plasma C-peptide levels.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...
