Thyroid, 2003Severe thyroid associated dermopathy (TAD), a rare complication of Graves' disease, currently lacks effective treatment. Mediators of growth and inflammation, including insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and somatostatin (SST) have been implicated in its pathogenesis.

Thyroid dermopathy: an underrecognized cause of leg edema.
Cutis, 2007Leg edema is a common clinical problem and the differential diagnosis is extensive. We present 4 patients in whom thyroid dermopathy was the cause of leg edema. Examination of the eyes and the nature of the edema were clues to the diagnosis of thyroid dermopathy.

Triad of Thyroid Ophthalmopathy, Dermopathy, and Acropachy.
SkinmedA 40-year-old African-American man was referred to our dermatology clinic for management of his long-standing thyroid dermopathy. The patient was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism at the age of 20, and was treated with radioactive iodine I-131 but subsequently lost to follow-up. He had not consulted physicians again until the age of 30.

Atypical thyroid dermopathy: clinical and immunological features of two cases.
