Vitamin D Deficiency Is Associated with Impaired Sensitivity to Thyroid Hormones in Euthyroid Adults

open access: yes, 2023
The relationship between vitamin D deficiency and sensitivity to thyroid hormones was unclear. We aimed to explore the association of 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels with thyroid hormone sensitivity in euthyroid adults. A total of 3143 subjects were

OAF Blocks SIAH1‐Mediated Degradation of SCPX, a Therapeutic Strategy for MASLD

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows OAF directly binds to SCPX and inhibits its interaction with the E3 ligase SIAH1, thereby protecting SCPX from ubiquitin‐dependent degradation and stabilizing its levels. This OAF‐SCPX axis represents a novel pathway in lipid homeostasis, highlighting OAF as a promising therapeutic candidate for MASLD.

Impaired sensitivity to thyroid hormones is positively associated to metabolic syndrome severity in euthyroid Chinese adults as revealed by a cross-sectional study

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
ObjectiveThyroid hormones (THs) play a pivotal role in regulating metabolism, and their sensitivity may influence the risk of metabolic syndrome (MetS).

Inadequate control of thyroid hormones sensitizes to hepatocarcinogenesis and unhealthy aging

open access: yesAging, 2019
An inverse correlation between thyroid hormone levels and longevity has been reported in several species and reduced thyroid hormone levels have been proposed as a biomarker for healthy aging and metabolic fitness. However, hypothyroidism is a medical condition associated with compromised health and reduced life expectancy.

Psychological well-being on thyroid hormone replacement [PDF]

open access: yes
Despite 100 years after the discovery of thyroxine, controversy still exists regarding optimal thyroid hormone replacement therapy. Several anecdotal reports suggest that thyroxine alone therapy does not normalise psychological wellbeing.

TRH: Pathophysiologic and clinical implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 1985
Thyrotropin releasing hormone is thought to be a tonic stimulator of the pituitary TSH secretion regulating the setpoint of the thyrotrophs to the suppressive effect of thyroid hormones. The peptide stimulates the release of normal and elevated prolactin.

Epigenetic Reactivation of TNFRSF19 Suppresses Mitophagy and Sensitizes Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer to Doxorubicin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TNFRSF19 is an epigenetically silenced regulator of mitophagy in triple‐negative breast cancer. TNFRSF19 deficiency activates the TGFBR1–SMAD3–PINK1 axis to promote mitophagy and confer doxorubicin resistance, whereas decitabine‐mediated restoration of TNFRSF19 suppresses mitophagy and enhances doxorubicin sensitivity, revealing a targetable epigenetic–
