Predictive Modeling of the Ti6Al4V Alloy Surface Roughness
Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems, 2010The prediction of surface roughness is important for all materials that undergo manufacturing processes. The Ti6Al4V titanium alloy is commonly used in aerospace, automotive and power generation industries but also in the manufacturing of medical implants, mainly because of its biocompatibility.

Powder Metallurgical Processing of Ti6Al4V Alloy
Advanced Materials Research, 2011Ti6Al4V powders were produced by Argon gas atomization, the powder fraction < 250μm was hot isostatically pressed (HIP) at 920°C and 140MPa. The properties of pre-alloyed powders and the compact were investigated in this paper. Powder particles are almost perfectly spherical.

Solar gas nitriding of Ti6Al4V alloy
Applied Surface Science, 2013Abstract The main purpose of this work was to study the activating effect of concentrated solar energy (CSE) on the high-temperature nitriding of Ti6Al4V alloy. Solar nitriding was conducted using a low-cost solar installation based on a Fresnel lens with a maximum density power of 250 W/cm2 at its focus.

Textures of the Hot-Forged Ti6Al4V Alloy
Solid State Phenomena, 2013This paper presents the results of the texture investigation in the hexagonal phase and the body-centered cubic phase of the Ti6Al4V alloy hot-deformed by forging. Forging was performed at two different temperatures on the occurrence of the single and in the two-phase + state.

The Influence of Process Parameters during Machining of Ti6Al4V Alloy
Materials Science Forum, 2007Ti6Al4V alloys are considered difficult materials to machine, especially at high cutting speeds due to their low thermal conductivity and specific heat which causes high localized cutting temperatures at the tool-workpiece interface. For these reasons machining titanium alloys usually results in excessive tool wear and its low modulus promotes chatter.

Load and Environmental Effects on the Corrosion Behavior of a Ti6Al4V Alloy
Key Engineering Materials, 2012This paper focuses on the static mechanical behavior of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy when exposed to several aggressive environments. Flat samples, with very light notches (i.e.Kt= 1.16), were tested under static loads, in inert environment and aggressive solutions: the samples gage sections were exposed to air and immerged in a NaCl solution (3.5%) and in
