Laser Powder Bed Fusion of Alumina: Effects of Scanning Strategies on External and Internal Defects
This study investigates how scanning strategies affect pure alumina in laser powder bed fusion. Linear 45° scanning yields uniform surfaces but high porosity, while the island‐concentric strategy provides higher density with through‐holes favorable for infiltration. Findings highlight pathways toward optimizing defect‐free alumina parts.

The characteristics of wear resistance of Cu-TiB2 composites reinforced by TiB2 powders [PDF]
In this study the effect of the content of on wear properties was investigated. composites have been fabricated by hot extrusion. Sliding wear tests were peformed by a pin-on-disk type wear test machine under dry condition and loads varied with from 20N to 80N at sliding speed 3.5Hz.

ABSTRACT High‐strength aluminum (Al) alloys are usually unprintable by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) due to the severe hot cracking along the columnar grains. Doping elements scandium (Sc) and/or zirconium (Zr) is an effective way to eliminate hot cracks by refining the grain size to nearly nanoscale levels.
