Selecting Prices Determinants and Including Spatial Effects in Peer-to-Peer Accommodation

open access: yesISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information, 2020
Peer-to-peer accommodation has grown significantly during the last decades, supported, in part, by digital platforms. These websites make available a wide range of information intended to help the customers’ decision.

The impact of large-scale tides on cosmological distortions via redshift-space power spectrum

open access: yes, 2017
Although the large-scale perturbations beyond a finite-volume survey region are not direct observables, these affect measurements of clustering statistics of small-scale (sub-survey) perturbations in the large-scale structure, compared with the ensemble ...

Endogenous Ceramide 24:1 Constrains Th17‐Driven Neutrophilic Inflammation by Antagonizing EP2 Signaling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cer24:1 levels are reduced in neutrophilic asthma and inversely correlate with disease severity and airway neutrophilia. Restoring Cer24:1 suppresses pathogenic Th17 differentiation by engaging EP2 on CD4+ T cells, thereby dampening the JAK2–STAT3–RORγt axis and reducing IL‐17 production.

Impact of Tidal Level Variations on Wave Energy Absorption at Wave Hub

open access: yesEnergies, 2016
The energy absorption of the wave energy converters (WEC) characterized by a limited stroke length —like the point absorbers developed at Uppsala University—depends on the sea level variation at the deployment site. In coastal areas characterized by high

Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cancer immunotherapy faces challenges in predicting treatment responses and understanding resistance mechanisms. Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) offer powerful solutions for cancer immunotherapy in patient stratification, biomarker discovery, treatment strategy optimization, and foundation model development.

The inverse problem: Ocean tides derived from earth tide observations [PDF]

open access: yes
Indirect mapping ocean tides by means of land and island-based tidal gravity measurements is presented. The inverse scheme of linear programming is used for indirect mapping of ocean tides.

Thermal Tides in Fluid Extrasolar Planets

open access: yes, 2009
Asynchronous rotation and orbital eccentricity lead to time-dependent irradiation of the close-in gas giant exoplanets -- the hot Jupiters. This time-dependent surface heating gives rise to fluid motions which propagate throughout the planet.

Pacinian Corpuscle‐Inspired Strain Conversion Enables Ultrasensitive, Linear, and Broad‐Range Piezoelectric Sensing for Cardiovascular Health Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bioinspired piezoelectric sensor mimicking Pacinian corpuscles is developed to enable ultrasensitive and linear pressure sensing. A multilayer grooved architecture converts normal pressure into in‐plane strain, delivering high sensitivity, wide linear range, and efficient energy harvesting, enabling high‐fidelity wrist pulse monitoring and ...

Numerical Modeling of Extreme Sea Levels on the Laptev Sea Coast

open access: yesGeosciences
The present study is devoted to the analysis of extreme sea level oscillations of the Laptev Sea using the ADCIRC model. The numerical modeling is performed on a high-resolution grid and verified for sea level observations from three tide gauges. We have

Review: Insight on Porous Carbon Positive Electrode for Sodium‐Ion Capacitors: Interplay Between Synthesis, Properties, and Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sodium ion capacitor (SIC) is currently constrained by the low discharge capacity of commercial activated carbon as positive electrode material. This review provides a holistic summary of research efforts on alternative porous carbon materials for SIC. Image created by the authors with www.biorender.com.
