Los fondos del museo de cerámica “Ruiz de Luna”: una aportación a la historia de las lozas de Talavera y Puente

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 1999
A historic approach of the origins of the Ceramic Museum “Ruiz de Luna” in Talavera de la Reina, the harmony of its space and its expositive design. The importance of its stored property when studying the productions of Talavera and Puente in particular,

Thermal insulation attaching means [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
An improved isolation system is provided for attaching ceramic tiles of insulating material to the surface of a structure to be protected against extreme temperatures of the nature expected to be encountered by the space shuttle orbiter.

Tuning the Dielectric Properties of Individual Clay Nanosheets by Interlayer Composition: Toward Nano‐Electret Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dielectric properties of clays are studied on the level of individual monolayers and functional double stacks. The material breakdown characteristics and charge storage performance are analyzed. For illustration, a defined charge pattern representing a cuneiform character is produced, written into a microscopic clay tile, referencing the origins of

On‐Surface Indigo‐Based Bimolecular Coordination Networks with Programmable Regular or Vitreous Structure

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Bioinspired Stabilization of Fluorescent Au@SiO2 Tracers for Multimodal Biological Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a bioinspired stabilization strategy for fluorescent gold‐silica nanoparticles. Inspired by natural biosilica maturation, high‐temperature calcination transforms the silica shells, preventing dissolution in cell culture media and intracellular environments.

Tilings, tiling spaces and topology [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Magazine, 2006
To understand an aperiodic tiling (or a quasicrystal modeled on an aperiodic tiling), we construct a space of similar tilings, on which the group of translations acts naturally. This space is then an (abstract) dynamical system. Dynamical properties of the space (such as mixing, or the spectrum of the translation operator) are closely related to bulk ...

High‐Resolution and Real‐Time In Situ Generation of Cellular Spheroids by Laser‐Assisted Bioprinting for Guided Microvascularization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐injection laser‐assisted bioprinting enables ultrafast and precise patterning of small endothelial cell spheroids by injecting a highly concentrated single‐cell suspension into GelMA/ColMA hydrogels. In co‐culture with fibroblasts, controlled pre‐vasculogenic network formation is obtained at microscale resolution.

An Efficient Tile-Pyramids Building Method for Fast Visualization of Massive Geospatial Raster Datasets

open access: yesAdvances in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2016
Building tile-pyramids is an effective way for publishing and accessing the map visualization service of large-scale geospatial data in the web. But it is a time-consuming task in Geographic Information System (GIS) to build tile-pyramids using ...

Spotlight Tiling

open access: yesAnnals of Combinatorics, 2010
This article introduces spotlight tiling, a type of covering which is similar to tiling. The distinguishing aspects of spotlight tiling are that the "tiles" have elastic size, and that the order of placement is significant. Spotlight tilings are decompositions, or coverings, and can be considered dynamic as compared to typical static tiling methods.
