Internal transformation of fertilizer-derived organic nitrogen fractions in an arable soil and the regulation of maize residue mulching

open access: yesGeoderma
Soil organic nitrogen (SON) is a major residual fertilizer nitrogen (N) reservoir in soil and affects soil N retention and supply capacity. However, owing to the diverse origins and compositions of SON fractions, the internal transformation of residual ...

A Conserved DT2‐bZIP66‐NF‐YC4 Regulatory Module Confers Drought Tolerance in Rice and Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies a conserved tripartiteDT2–bZIP66–NF‐YC4 transcriptional module that enhances rice drought tolerance by activating stress‐responsive genes. This regulatory complex is functionally conserved across cereals and Arabidopsis, providing promising targets for engineering drought‐resilient crops. ABSTRACT Drought stress severely restricts

OsAld-Y on qATS6 links to alkalinity tolerance at the seedling stage in Oryza sativa L. ssp. Japonica

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Salinity and alkalinity stress is one of the main factors limiting the yield of rice. The damage to growth caused by alkaline stress is more severe than the damage caused by neutral salt stress.

Impact of Electrolyte Formulation on the Phase Behavior and Interphase Formation of Sb/Graphite Electrodes for K‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electrolyte formulation is shown to govern both interphase chemistry and bulk phase evolution in Sb/graphite anodes for potassium‐ion batteries. A diglyme‐based localized high‐concentration electrolyte promotes a thin inorganic‐rich interphase, suppresses deep graphite potassiation, limits electrode swelling, and stabilizes amorphous KxSb formation ...

Nitrogen Fertiliser Reduction at Different Rice Growth Stages and Increased Density Improve Rice Yield and Quality in Northeast China

open access: yesAgriculture
Rice yield and quality decline due to excessive fertiliser use is problematic in China. To increase rice grain filling and improve rice yield and quality, a nitrogen reduction and density increase study in 2023 and 2024 was imposed on a long-term ...

One‐Step Preparation of Lanthanide‐Doped Polyurea Multicolor Microspheres for Versatile Fluorescent Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lanthanide‐doped polyurea microspheres are prepared via a facile one‐step precipitation polymerization. They exhibit strong hydrogen‐bonding and coordination interactions with excellent properties, including multicolor emission, high quantum yield (75.3%), remarkable stability, redispersibility, and biocompatibility.

Identification of a Nonribosomal Peptide Analog With Activity Against Multiple Gram‐Positive Bacteria via a Synthetic Bioinformatic Natural Product Discovery Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The genome of Rhodococcus erythropolis D‐1 was analyzed by bioinformatic tools to mine a novel nonribosomal peptide synthetase (NRPS) gene cluster. A nonribosomal peptide analog ZURJC5 associated with the NRPS was chemically synthesized. Through structure‐activity relationship studies, ZURJC28 was ultimately obtained and showed antibacterial activity ...

Preliminary Study on Optimizing Rice Production in Cold Regions: Yield and Nutritional Trade-Offs Between Transplanting and Mechanical Hill-Drop Seeding

open access: yesAgronomy
Direct seeding of rice reduces labor intensity and cost, helping alleviate labor shortages in cold-region rice production. To investigate the effects of mechanical precision hill-direct seeding versus mechanical transplanting on yield and nutrient ...

ZrO2 Aerogel‐Supported Pd Nanoparticles for Photothermal CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanoparticle‐based aerogels are promising catalysts for photothermal reactions due to optical transparency, high surface area, and low thermal conductivity. Here, we present deposition of Pd nanoparticles on ZrO2 aerogel granules by a wet‐impregnation approach.

Soil loss by tillage erosion: The effects of tillage implement, slope gradient, and tillage direction on soil translocation by tillage

open access: yes, 1992
The general objective of this study was to examine the processes of tillage translocation and tillage erosion in greater depth. The specific objective was to determine the effect of tillage implement type on the magnitude of soil translocation and net downslope soil translocation by tillage under a range of slope gradients within a typical upland ...
