Multimodal Actuation and Environment Adaptive Strategies of Bio‐Inspired Micro/Nanorobots in Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
An introduction for multidrive and environment‐adaptive micro/nanorobotics: design and fabrication strategies, intelligent actuation, and their applications. Various intelligent actuation approaches—magnetic, acoustic, optical, chemical, and biological—can be synergistically designed to enhance flexibility and adaptive behavior for precision medicine ...

Tillage Radish Planting Date x Seeding Rate Trial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Farmers are interested in growing tillage radishes as they may potentially offer many environmental and economic benefits. Tillage radishes are quick at scavenging excess nitrogen (N), provide good ground cover, and break down very quickly in the spring ...

Climate Change Threatens Micronutrient Density of European Winter Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Micronutrients are vital for human health. Wheat is a major staple crop and a significant source of minerals and B‐vitamins. The impact of climate change on their content remains largely unknown. We evaluated micronutrient levels in European winter wheat grown under historical and projected climate conditions. Our findings indicate that future climates

Fine-Mapping and Candidate Gene Analysis of qAT3 for Alkalinity Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAgronomy
Salinity–alkalinity stress is one of the major abiotic stresses that limit rice production in the world. The salinity–alkalinity tolerance of rice at the germination stage has a direct effect on the survival and final yield of seedlings in direct sowing.

Effect of tillage and crop on arbuscular mycorrhiza [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Large-scale inoculation with arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) is generally impractical in most regions and we have little understanding of the factors that determine inoculation success.

A Central Somatic Transmission Mediates Proprioceptive Facilitation of Muscle Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zhang et al. uncover a novel central mechanism for persistent muscle pain, in which TRPA1 sensitization in MeV proprioceptive neurons enhances somatic secretion. This, in turn, disinhibits descending pain control from neighboring noradrenergic locus coeruleus neurons via local GABAergic circuits, thereby promoting inflammatory muscle pain.

Mitigating Carbon and Nitrogen Footprints While Enhancing Ecosystem Economic Benefits via Strategic Application of Slow-Release Fertilizer and Mulching

open access: yesAgriculture
Dryland farming on the Loess Plateau faces significant challenges due to water scarcity and low nitrogen use efficiency. Although conventional urea sustains crop yields, it is associated with elevated greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen losses. Despite
