TILLING (Targeting Induced Local Lesions IN Genomes), a popular reverse genetics approach in barley research, combines plant mutagenesis with efficient mutation detection for studying biological function of a specific gene. The high mutation frequency within a TILLING population principally enables the identification of induced variations in (almost ...

TILLING is a method to find mutations in a gene of interest by scanning amplicons from a mutagenized population for sequence changes, commonly a single nucleotide. In the past 5 years, mutation detection by sequencing has become increasingly popular. This chapter details the experimental flow for TILLING-by-Sequencing, highlighting the critical steps ...

“Lodgement till” and “deformation till”
Quaternary Science Reviews, 2001Abstract The use of the terms “lodgement till” and “deformation till” are discussed. It is proposed that the term “hard lodgement till” and “soft lodgement till” are used for sediments, deposited subglacially by active ice, and existing tectonic names are used for glaciotectonically deformed substructures.

TILLING: an alternative path for crop improvement
Journal of Crop Improvement, 2018Rising global temperatures, changing precipitation patterns, spread of insects and diseases, and slow development of crop varieties acclimatized to new environments have produced a food crisis situation in some developing countries.
